PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Officials say at least five people are dead and multiple people are injured following a train derailment in Philadelphia’s Port Richmond neighborhood.
The incident was reported around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday near the 2000 block of Wheatsheaf Lane.
Amtrak says Northeast Regional Train 188, operating from Washington to New York derailed. They say there were approximately 238 passengers and 5 crew members on board. Amtrak says Northeast Corridor service between New York and Philadelphia is suspended.
