it IS incredible isn't it??
STILL pumpin out great set after great set...never cheesed out, never sold out, never lost his touch..
Simply does not get any better than Hernan
definitely need an amp to get the full effect of Grado. listening via amp/dac vs. normal Macbook audio out... difference is very noticeable.
here is my set up..
Alessandro/Grado MS1i's with customized Indonesian rosewood cups and coffee head band to match. i actually sold my Grado 500e's once i customized them. 500e's have much more bass, almost too much for my ears. AMP/DAC are Schitt Modi/Magni 2 Uber's... pretty good for $300.00.
i am sure you all already know this but keep in mind that Grado's are for home/office use only.. since the open back design, people can hear your music and you can hear them as well when outside.
portable head phones.. yea iGrado's are brand new, have not heard them but assume they are spot on. i have a pair of Shure IEM's that i use on the go/plane rides.
Nice set up.
Now I fancy a decent DAC / Amp to connect to my PC for home headphone listening.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.
As for the Live In .. the music on the night was ridiculous, from third track in the room could tell it was going to be a seriously good night.
In recent times I can't think of a CD that has such a great batch of tracks : given the music wasn't pre-planned the flow and selection in the moment knocks you for 6.
From Vermillion to Fault Lines to the Cosmic Cowboys tracks to Love Over Entropy, KT and Visionquest remixes to Arp Choir and the Romboy Garnier re-rub / bangin' Jel Ford number the whole set is raw yet faultless. Best of the series and going to be nigh on impossible to top.

I'm really digging the Agoria mix of Vermillion - I've never really paid too much attention to his earlier stuff, but I think his Fabric mix and this got me much more interested in what he's done and doing.
Score so far: Owned ZoverTard 8 times - twice in one week! Twice more in same weekend.
More than six months later - he's still pissed LOL - check the last visitor - guess who the last visitor is on my profile page.
Never heard that one. Thank you for the heads up - I've always got a soft spot for DJ's that use cinematic themes to their work (be it samples, use of actual soundtrack peices, whatever).

is his fabric mix similar to his balance? i havent checked out his fabric so far...
I don't really think so in the sense of flow when comparing the mixes (balance naturally being a longer listen and builds up longer) - I do think that his distinctive dreamy kind of style/sound does shine through, though.
His essential mix is stellar - I was giving it a listen a while back in the car when my interest in him was sparked.

Still only on CD1 right now. The box got shipped to my new house and I didn't get it until yesterday.
So far, so good. Really like the music.
I'm not thrilled with the sound quality all that much, however. I'm sure it sounds great in headphones, but in my car it's a little muddy and the soundstage is really low and diffuse. While I enjoy the concept of the "Live In" series, I really do miss the quality of studio mixes. The portable recorder he uses just doesn't do the greatest job for proper stereo reproduction.
