Hands down, the best spots in NYC for the summer

Well, last week I finally decided to hit up the infamous Bohemian Beer Garden in Astoria, Queens, New York. I have to say, I'm gonna be spending my whole summer here. When you walk in its a small bar with a few tables. At first you don't think much of it. But, when you walk outside, your reaction is holy shit. this place is huge. I have to say the place is like 50 yards x 50 yards. Just huge. Theres just rows and rows of picnic benches. Its the closest thing to Octoberfest in my opinion, even though I've never been. Pitchers are $12 and your given thos big ass beer mugs. Liquor selection is great, everything you can think of. And theres a BBQ outside serving all types of food. Theres trees everywhere, so theres a nice shading. Plus, you can smoke cigarettes. I highly recommend this to any NYer or anyone who is visiting this summer. This, along with the P.S. 1 parties, its going to be fun summer. Here are some websites on the place.

Well, if you haven't heard about P.S 1, then your missing out. P.S. 1 is part of the Museum of Modern Art. Every Saturday, PS 1 plays host to a wide array of djs from around the world. Heres this years line-up

was just talking to disco last night about the PS1 parties, and the beer garden is pretty cool, but it has nothing for me outside of beer. no bands, no DJ's, etc. just a place to drink.

On occasion, there are bands. But it is just a place to drink. For me, its a good place to meet up with friends and chill during the day.

I know i'll be up in NYC off and on during the summer / hurricane season.

Work sends us up there which is fine by me...

I'll be doing the Fear and Loathing scenario big time...

yeah, the beer garden rocks and occasionally they get a dj or two in there... i saw danny krivit spin for a few hours once (not that anyone was paying attention, though with $3 double cheeseburgers, can you blame them?).

PS1 is def worth the trip too - good space.
