You can't have manslaughter without laughter.

"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."

New Orleans is seriously one category 4 away from premanently being part of the Gulf of Mexico.

^ Let hope it never happens. Hope all you MN'ers in florida have a safe hurrican season. After last yr I don't think the gulf can handle to many more hurricanes.

No kidding. Everyone went apeshit because they thought Ivan was going to completely destroy the city. Luckily it decided to veer east and fuck poor little Mobile up the ass instead.

It's just a matter of time before New Orleans gets nailed with a big one.

Sucks. Those are the facts tho.

It's not entirely out of the realm of NYC either. That would be a fking mess.

Well it wouldn't have as much steam because of the cooler waters up north.

did you see the hurricane that hit halifax (in canada) in like 2003? the thing stayed on the water all the way up the coast, then veered west and slammed into the canadian coast...it was just as strong as ones hitting florida (when it hit land it was a category 3 if i remember right). nyc was shitting themselves that it was gonna hit them instead...

it can happen, just that the odds are very slim. There was one that hit Cape Cod & Mass many years back as well...even inland (about 90 miles), the winds were still in the upper 80s to low 90s.
