‘Marc Poppcke’ is a name synonymous with melodic, uplifting productions; a true DJ’s DJ with a deep love of four-to-the-floor electronic music, charming dance floors with his well-versed and impeccable track selections.
2015 marks not one, but several milestones for the Berlin resident; celebrating a solid 15 years behind the decks, 10 years since making the move to the clubbing capital of the world to pursue his passion, and turning the bright, young age of 35. With these in mind, Marc reflects on what has been an incredible career with the release of his first artist album, simply titled ‘35’.
With a string of successful releases under his belt, both on his own label ‘Crossfrontier Audio’, as well as Sudbeat, Last Night On Earth, Freerange, and Get Physical to name a few, the message behind ‘35’ is simple: an album showcasing the different moods and moments of a club night; where warm up tracks tease and build toward pumping peak time floor fillers, holding for a while before gently easing into after hour delights.
For Marc, this album is more than just a selection of club tracks, but a true labour of passion and love; a deeply personal project that pays tribute to all the events that have lead him to this very moment.

03. Mansionair - Hold Me Down (Maxi Iborquiza Boot) [Goodbye Records | unreleased]
Mansionair is a production Sydney-based duo consisting of Lachlan Bostock and Alex Nicholls and if debut single “Hold Me Down” is any indicator, they might be an act to watch over the next year. Blending beautiful guitar and tasteful bass beneath the ethereal vocals of fellow Australians Revier, “Hold Me Down” down is mesmerizing, meandering journey that never finds a home in one particular genre, seamlessly combining its constituent parts into an elegant, aching final product.
Hailing from Villa La Angostura Maxi Iborquiza is a partner owner of Onward Recordings (Arg) with his friend Diego Colqhoun (Distaff aka Bs As Deep). maxi has realease across a string of labels including 3rd Avenue, Classound, Proton, Stripped Digital and Balkan Connection South America.
The ever-bubbling DJ and producer Dauwd brings his penchant for crafting sublimely melodic tracks to Ghostly duo Beacon. With "Fault Lines" - from the newly released L1 EP - Dauwd invokes a subtle and seductive beat that weaves through Tom Mullarney's gentle vocals, offering a late night spike of adrenaline to push you into the come-down of the morning hours.
The latest release from Tenampa Recordings sees producer DAVI drawing on his heritage to build a progressive and innovative selection of house for the ‘Armenian EP’.
LA-based producer DAVI has been making a name for himself with releases on the likes of Rebellion, Bits and Pieces and Anjunadeep, leading to support from DJs such as Damian Lazarus, Robert Babicz, Eelke Kleijn, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Way Out West and James Zabiela. Having made numerous appearances on the Tinseltown club circuit, DAVI’s deep and melodic sets regularly venture across the rest of the States and Europe with him featuring at major festivals such as Burning Man.
Lead track ‘Metanoia’ kicks off proceedings, drawing on evocative live instrumentation and ethereal ethnic vocals to bring the Armenian theme to life. ‘Ordinary Nightmares’ is a more direct and propulsive cut with taut delayed stabs and space age pads riding over a rock solid rhythm section. For the penultimate track ‘Metanoia’ returns in ‘Club mix’ form with muted bass and subtle snares added to the lush pads and middle-eastern vocals of the original. Finally the package closes with ‘lllusion’, a hypnotic bass fuelled workout that weaves an Arabian feel through it’s subtle use of melody and percussion.
06. Björk - Stonemilker (Maxi Iborquiza Boot) [One Little Indian | unreleased]
'Stonemilker' was written on the beach of Grótta—the northwest tip of Reykjavik and is taken from Björk's ninth album 'Vulnicura' [One Little Indian | tplp1231dl] co-produced with Venezuelan producer, Arca. Bold, defiant, personal, with signature kaleidoscopic exuberance, this is a truly extraordinary work of art.
Two hands down brilliant remixes here of our recent release Mantra. First up is Canadian/Romanian producer Andrew Alexandrov a.k.a. The Noble Six famed for his Subculture output, with a classy remix which stays true and faithful to the original version of this beautiful pure trance record, but cranks up the energy levels for harder peak time trance floors with punchy synths & a sprinkling of acid for good measure.
The flip side of this remix package is a stunning deep, ambient progressive from Henrik Zuberstein which oozes class and sophistication. A 9:00 production that motors along at a sedate 123bpm; lead elements of Mantra weave and echo throughout the arrangement, enveloping the listener in swathes of FX, pads and space-echo. Lush.

Remixed by Guy Manzur who continues an incredible run of form with yet another deep trippy notch production. Mastered by Robert Babicz and forthcoming in his Babiczstyle imprint Guy's remix of 'Bassporn' features deep chest pounding sub bass and floating ethereal synths across intricate layers.
09. Sasha - Ether (Original Mix) [Last Night On Earth | LNOE040][Last Night On Earth | LNOE040]
For whatever reason — call it fortune on our part — Sasha seems to have been stirred from his sleep and is now on a solo production tear. After presenting “Vapourspace” in March — his first original in three years — the Welsh legend is back again with another single on Last Night On Earth.
“Ether,” as the new track goes, arrives with both an original and intro mix. Beginning with the latter version delivers the kind of overtly emotional Sasha-satisfaction that we’ve grown to love from his catalog. The slowly ascending tide of the track is carried forward by dancing rides and vocal splices.
As to the original mix, Sasha provides a conspicuously less melodic take, opting for a tech house structure that hinges on it's off-beat percussion and oscillating bassline. As with all his compositions, the track steadily rises in tension and flavor, stringing one along quite naturally for a whole 9 minutes.
