I give you mucho respect for that bro.

BTW, where can one get a balance 007 t-shirt. The cover for that cd is sweet. As smooth as Fortiers mixing. I know if I had a record label you'd probably get sick of seeing me, because everytime you did i'd probably be wearing some article of clothing that had the label logo on it.

is it uber cool to play vinyl now?

are people who play vinyl "old school" and "true" and people who play CDRs "the young, ignorant, and/or unprivelged"?

everyone who prefers vinyl raise your hand and turn around so i can pat you on the back...come on..carry the torch for playing good music but please dont try and deem yourselves "true", "cool", or whatever because you play "vinyl".

i guess chris f. isnt so cool because he played his last song, a classic, from a CDR...i guess he mustve not got that record back in the day...

who DOESNT prefer vinyl? its the natural choice to mix with..but sometimes..alot of times you cant get "that track" on vinyl. dont forget, a CDR is going to sound better too(if its the original full bandwidth song and not a low quality mp3). isnt it foremost about the music? give me the version that sounds better. how many records do you have that sound like ass because the pressing is crap. but NOW in 2005 youre COOL if you have the vinyl? yawwwnnn.

Damn killer, take a valium! I don't think it's uber-cool to play vinyl over CDs and I don't trash Ableton. I do, however, think it's nice to go out and watch someone spin vinyl. It takes me back, if you will. I'm no spring chicken and I'm certainly not getting any younger, but it's nice to remember the days of watching the label go around, laying the needle down, etc.

There was a day, albeit a short time ago, when people bitched about CDs this, CDs that. But that day is gone imo. People have embraced the technology. Most people resist change at first, until they realize exactly how it benefits them and how easy it is to adjust. Same goes for Ableton. Notice that the bitching has died down? Life works that way.

I can't believe we were at Cleo's for like 4-5 hours! It seemed like we were there for only an hour at the most...

My buddy that hung out with us agrees...we were like WTF happened to that night?

What a freakin blowout evening. Villo, Tim, and Chris were on top the game. Just dropping some nasty bumpin dark shite!

I need another night like this NOW!

Personally, I feel more in control using vinyl. I still use cdr's, but not as much so as vinyl.

Same as I. Maybe because I can manipulate it better?

Re: Chris Fortier, Tim Skinner, and Villo Last Night in Orlando

vinyl vs CDs is an OLD tale, it began in 1990 with the first Dennon players w pitch. i had those. i have been sponsored by Stanton to promote Final Scratch, which i have used in my gigs (i have even played all FS sets)
i dont think im uber cool for playing vinyl (I just am )
but really, its like now someone makes a comment about a preference, and it gets all deviated into a hot topic about whether this is this or that is that, and true this and old skool that...

i am probably the oldest skooler in this forum (or one of them) but i dont think it makes me anything else but that...

besides there would be no new skool, without the old...and no matter how 'old skool' you are, there is always someone who showed you the way once...

if you have not tried it, don't knock it...
