    Release Notes:

    01. Thomalla - Pataphysics [Riotvan | RVN009]

Thomalla - you might know the guy as button pusher within the The/Das live ensemble as well as from his releases on Krakatau, Running Back, and soon also Permanent Vacation. Hes a crafty connector of indie attitude, IDM forehead crease and club bounce. His sound was called weirdo house for the freaks by the zeitgeist seismographs at Boiler Room when Thomalla released one of his clever live sets from the controllers there. However, you can hardly charge him with being overly exaggerated anymore. If anything, thats a sobriety perceptible in every beat, an earnestness which he utilises to counter the increasingly dominant cheap-ass preset tetris with his own blueprint of deepness.

    Release Date: 26 June 2015

    02. Art Department - Walls (Dj Tennis Remix) [No.19 Music | NO19061]

"The Life & Death co-founder DJ Tennis has taken no prisoners with his Art Department edit and hits you from the off with staggered percussion, ominous underlying chords and side-winding synth riffs."

The latest remix package of Art Departments Natural Selection album, sees production heavyweights DJ Tennis and Chaim rework the sublime Walls. Hot on the heels of the recent Guy Gerber and &ME remixes, comes this latest mix package.

It kicks off with Berlin based, Italian production heavyweight and Life & Death records boss DJ Tennis at the controls. He strips back Walls to its component parts and reimagines it as a stirring and emotive slice of underground house music that marries broken percussion, filtered arpeggios and moving pads to great effect. Defying any real genre classification this is simply superb electronic music and climaxes with a two minute beatless outro that is nothing short of spine tingling.

The second of the two mixes comes courtesy of Tel Aviv, techno stalwart Chaim who wraps up the record in a warm cocoon of hypnotic drums and synths, and peppers it with tight edits of Kennys distinctive vocals. A perfectly deep, late night offering for any discerning dancefloor, the mix shows why this producer has been so vital to labels like Bpitch Control, Visionquest & Supplement Facts over the years.

    Release Date: 08 June 2015

    03. Laurent Garnier - Drifting In Midwaters [F Communications ‎| F 265]

It contains a collection of tracks released on five very different labels, originating in five different countries. There are also a few previously unreleased tracks and an, as yet, unreleased "surprise" EP. HOME box is a limited edition collector's piece that encapsulates Garnier's character: it is audacious, bighearted and artistically uncompromising.

    06. Namatjira - Unknown Source [SexOnWax Recordings | SEX075]

SexOnWax welcome Namatjira from the Netherlands with this fantastic two tracker, sure to get you going.

'Unknown Source' starts with a gentle offering, floaty pads, that lead to a breakdown reminiscent of Omid 16B's 'In Between Your Choice' bringing in a well toned basseline further backing the melodic structure to climax as it drops back in.

'Mundo Anillo' takes you straight into a more summer kicked back vibe with sweeping vocals, light melodic synths and warm harmonics. It's all about the music here at SexOnWax so whilst Joost Van Der Vleuten aka Namatjira may not be a big name just yet, he has certainly put him self in line with making records that will touch the hearts of many for years to come.
