    Release Notes:

    01. Jelly For The Babies - Things Unspoken [Balkan Connection | Promo]

Release comes with great remixes from Navid Mehr and Li-Polymer!

Raskovic Marijan of Pancevo spent two years in music school, also studying at the Belgrade University of Electronics.

His Jelly For The Babies project was created in 2007. The whole project is based mostly on melodic sounds with plenty of vocals mixed up in three different genres, Deep, Progressive and Tech House. All those genres are unique with typical Jelly style and got that kind of flavor...”Candy flavor of club sound”.

He now has more than 350 releases across over 30 different labels based all around the globe including The Purr, Balkan Connection, Heavenly Bodies Records.

    02. Exoplanet - Refraction (East Cafe Remix) [Balkan Connection | BALKAN0335]

Balkan Connection's latest welcomes Exoplanet back to the label for a new EP entitled 'Wave Theory'. The Dutch producer last appeared on the label with his remix of Ozgur Ozkan's 'Jln' from February of this year. It showcased an old school acid trance vibe and was favoured by John OO Fleming. Now for Balkan Connection's 335th release we see a brand new single alongside remixes from East Cafe and Antrim.

Exoplanet has always been somewhat of a mysterious producer, he’s got a very broad sound and his productions have really varied over the course of his ten year career. The lead track 'Refraction' showcases his unique blend of styles quite well. There's techy, acidy and psychedelic overtones running through this one and it's higher BPM will certainly lend itself to the more trance oriented DJs like John OO Fleming. It's tough driving beats are surely primed for peaktime play but there's a complement of dreamy melodies and vocal gates which soften it touch. Nice work from Exoplanet.

The first interpretation of 'Refraction' is supplied by 'East Cafe' who is making his fifth appearance on Balkan Connection. It's been an incredible year for the Hungarian producer, his 'Mondschein' track (released courtesy of LuPS Records) was a favourite of Hernan Cattaneo and his work on Golden Wings and Particles was also excellent. For his 'Refraction' interpretation East Cafe has (as you would expect) slowed the tempo down a touch and added a groovy foundation all while staying true to the dreamy vibe from the original. What's exceptional about this mix though is how he's managed to convey a great emotion through it. It presents those floaty synths in an entirely new and exciting light. Great remix from East Cafe.

The second and final interpretation of 'Refraction' is supplied by Antrim who is returning to Balkan Connection for his fourth appearance. Much like East Cafe Antrim too has been riding a nice wave of momentum this year. The Argentinean producer continues to be a regular in the sets and charts of Hernan Cattaneo, and his 'Export Dynamism' (written in conjunction with Luis Bondio) was one of this year's standout tunes. Antrim's 'Refraction' interpretation comes in as the most progressive version on the release. Sitting somewhere between the original and East Cafe's in terms of energy it's a nice complement. The smooth and floaty nature of the parts is backed by a big, gnarly bass line which gives the track a very large presence. What really makes it unique though are these trippy synths that meander through the framework and create a very chilling, almost eerie vibe. It's a unique mood Antrim has captured here and it closes the release out strong. Another excellent package from Balkan Connection with both remixes standing out for me. Don't miss it.

    Release Date: 25 May 2015

    03. Dance Spirit & Bedouin - Late Night Early Mornings (Leo Conovaloff Rework) [Supernature | unreleased]

This is an Argentinian rework of the Bedouin Remix of Late Night Early Mornings that was released in July 2014 [SPN037]

    04. Nahue Juarez & N'Pot - Selcouth [unreleased]

Argentina's Nahue Juarez has releases on the likes of Soundteller Records.

    05. Hermanez & BP - Octa Motus [ELEVATE | ELV26]

The latest EP off Pig & Dan’s ‘Elevate’ comes from the über talented Belgian producer, Hermanez who teams up with fellow countryman BP, and it’s called ‘Fast Capture’.

Both Hermanez and BP seem to feed off each other’s strengths, and the result is gratifying. Rather than experiment with a 100 different samples rolled into one track, there’s a very organic undertone to the EP that showcases the strengths of both artists, that compliment each other perfectly.

Right off the bat, the title track ‘Fast Capture’ is filled with melodies and a catchy beat that it could sit right at the middle of a peak time set. It isn’t just the melodies that are addictive, the energy that Fast Capture gives off is enough to get the crowd going.

Octa Motus, the second track off the release is dark and gritty. There’s a low-slung vibe to this one, and has sinister undertones that are embodied in some very authentic percussions. This one stood as a personal favourite for me, simply because there are some convoluted twists that elevate the track to whole new heights.

Rounding off this strong EP comes ‘Irritates Me’. With a longer introduction that incorporates percussions and a strong bassline, there is a rougher edge to this track, which finally breaks into minimal, yet evocative melodies that tie the entire track together.

The Elevate label showcases micro-styles of techno, and highlights every release with equal élan. I shall iterate and reiterate that you need to go and buy this EP.

    Release Date: 15 June 2015

    06. Dustin Nantais - Makes Me Feel (Stas Drive Remix) [Manual Music | MAN164]

We're happy to welcome back Dustin Nantais for a fresh EP on Manual Music. The Toronto based artist made his debut last year with 'Happenstance EP' which made it 14th place in the progressive house sales charts op Beatport last summer and followed up earlier this year with the release of 'Cloak / A Long Road' on MNL which is one of the better selling releases on the label so far this year. We're pretty sure that this new EP will do at least equally well for him as we're presenting a very strong package with two badass originals and remixes by both Dale Middleton and Stas Drive!

    Release Date: 29 June 2015

    08. Animal Print - Kites for August (Original Mix) [Resopal Schallware | RSP0935]

Bolivian - born and - bred DJ's, producers and duo ANIMAL PRINT ( aka Lecter and Marco Cuba ) covers a wide spectrum of sonic and artistic possibilities, from the minimalist, bouncy original mix of "Kites for August," elegantly playing with a mixture of uplifting and dark vibes; to the extremely reduced and highly effective Thunders; the relentless, almost epic Red Moon; and the percussive, hypnotic by Orion Each track can be appropriate for a different situation, but in the end they are all aiming for the same goal: to create an absorbing soundtrack for unifying experiences on the dance floor.

    09. Love Over Entropy - Tucaroya Pt2 (Original Mix) [SoHaSo | free download]

Free download comes from SoHaSo (Something Happening Somewhere) artist, Love Over Entropy, whose SoHaSo 001 & 006 releases have really put them on the deep house radar. With their recent Tonii EP, none other than Dixon issued his own reworking of the mythical tale. At the flipside of that EP was Tucaroya Pt1, which drove into new levels of deepness. Now, Love Over Entropy and SoHaSo have provided up with the tracks follow up, Tucaroya Pt. 2.

After a more than impressive debut with SoHaSo 001, Love Over Entropy took up the role of modern day bard with SoHaSo 006, chronicling Tonii’s story for those willing to listen. In case you missed that one, all there is to know is encapsulated in its 12.5 minute timespan: an emotional, ever climbing rollercoaster of longing and joy. Pure melancholy.

If that wasn’t enough, a retelling of the myth came from non other than the mighty Dixon. Rearranging the essential elements of Tonii, he was able to condense and intensify the original, making it a tool for all kinds of dance floor situations.

Tucaroya part 1 sits at the back of that EP, taking things to an even further level of depth. As Love Over Entropy says himself, Tucaroya part 1 is ‘’dedicated to the little things that make up a human life.’’ Now, we present a very special FREE DOWNLOAD featuring the continuation of the Tucaroya narrative with Tucaroya part 2. This time around, Love Over Entropy kick up bpm’s a bit, with a steadily rising, synthy number, seemingly tailer made for the warehouse, as well as the main stage.
