What a fucking magical moment it was to see them play Confortably Numb with Waters and Gilmour doing their parts again!

I think I could?ve had a comet hit me in the head during that solo and I wouldn?t notice it...I totally forgot about the world during that Floyd performance actually.

I actually was lucky enough to hear Live8 entirely on our local radio, and saw most of it uninterrupted on TV too.

Some crap moments, but some awesome ones too : I mean, let?s put musical prejudice aside, but some great displays were put on by The Who, Madonna, Stevie Wonder, (glup) Will Smith, U2 and Green Day.

And Duran Duran too...I can?t explain why, but I love Save A Prayer.

And laugh at Paul McCartney, but Helter Skelter was awesome...just as good as U2?s cover of it.

I'll probably catch hell for saying this, but having seen the footage, the performance was not as good as I had hoped.

I agreee with you they were definatly showing signs of rust....but it was still awesome seeing them again...

I was watching it on VH-1 and was so mad when they cut away during the Pink Floyd set - grrr!!!!! Rewatched the whole thing on AOL though ....

Pink Floyd was about the ONLY good performance of Live 8. Everyone else was horrible.
I watched most of it, since i was totally spent from going to see Danny T. and trust me most of the performers sucked!!!!

Couldnt agree with you more....some of them were just laughable...its amazing that some of these artists are making the money they do becuse most sounded horrible on live 8.

^^^ the geezer that used to "sing" for Soundgarden ... i dont know too many people that could have sounded worse.
Almost as bad as when Axel Rose came out on MTV a couple years back and ran out of breath coming out on stage.

Chris Cornell? I didn't see the performance but he is considered by many to be the best vocalist in rock today, although I personally can do without all the high notes. I saw him 2 years ago (now with Audioslave) and he was in fine voice. Maybe he was off that day?

Cornell sounded way bedder than the pearl jam dude on that " I'm going hungry song " back in the day.

Cornell used to bring it wen he was with soundgarden...remember Jesus Chirst Pose, that song rox......oh no i am going back to my metal dayz.
