Finally saw the movie. I enjoyed it minus the cliche young screaming girl.

Re: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe

just finished watching it and I loved it. When I was a kid, my mom used to take me and my sister to our babysitter's house. Every night Suzie would read a new section of the book series to me, my sister, and her two younger brothers while babysitting... without question this movie is made for kids, but being one of those nostalgic big kids FlyGirl is talking about, I love it.

I saw the movie, but didn't like it at all. I was very disappointed about the special effects

The Chronicles Of Narnia Rulesss , that film contains great special effects, some very talented artists worked hard on that

I still love the old series that was on the tv, "The Lion The Witch & The Wardrobe"

According to C. S. Lewis his fantasies for children - his Narnia series of seven books beginning with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and ending with The Last Battle - were deliberate works of Christian propaganda. The books are a kind of Religious Tract Society version of the Oz books as written by E. Nesbit; but E. Nesbit would rarely have allowed herself Lewis's awful syntax, full of tacked-on clauses, lame qualifications, vague adjectives and unconscious repetitions; neither would she have written down to children as thoroughly as this childless don who remained a devoutly committed bachelor most of his life. Both Baum and Nesbit wrote more vigorously and more carefully:
                  - from Epic Pooh by Michael Moorcock

Many parts of the books may seem rather out-of-place, but make sense in light of the symbolism they carry. In the 5th book in the series, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Aslan turns from a lamb into a lion and tells the children that he brought them to Narnia to learn his other name on Earth. Christ was called the Lamb of God in the Bible, and it is almost certain that he meant the name Jesus. Also, in The Silver Chair, the dead King Caspian is brought to Aslan's territory, where Caspian lay in a river. Aslan commands Eustace to prick his paw with a thorn, and Aslan lets the blood drop on Caspian, who in turn comes alive. This is symbolic of how only Jesus's blood when he died on the cross could bring man to heaven (and give them life), and the water that purifies. The thorn is symbolic of the crown of thorns, and that Eustace pricked his paw is symbolic of how man put Christ on the cross. In the Bible, Jesus is also referred to as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah

The movie lacked a middle and ending. Its amazing how the 2 boys can learn to use a sword and lead an army in just 2 days.
