    Health Kick / Fitbit

I've finally decided to shake things up and started exercising pretty good since the last 2 weeks and using a Fitbit health-tracker. Wondering if anyone else is using a tracker and would like to get exchange email addresses via PM to get on the Fitbit friend-list and compete.

I know RiseandShine is on it and he's on my friend list right now (man that guy can run)

Be good to get an [ms] group going.

    Re: Health Kick / Fitbit

I don't use Fitbit, my wife did for a little less than a month I think. I'm all for whatever motivates a person to get into the gym and workout. The progress will be based on diet mostly, followed by ability to gain muscle (which burns fat while you are resting) and of course history/muscle memory. At the end of the day, if you can teach yourself that working out is privilege, I think that helps. I've got a fair amount of experience in this dept, so if anyone has any diet or exercise questions, I don't claim to be a professional or dr, but I can give some tips, as I'm sure others here can too. Hopefully we can keep things cool in this thread....Running is a great start!!

I have a pedometer, but not a fitbit. what software/program do you use to track your activity, kamal? I use virgin health... not sure if it'd be associated to what you use, but I do know people at work use fitbits and upload to virgin health website.
Should I fuck you at that not until the ass, inject then tremendously hard bumschen and to the termination in the eyes yes?

be careful with any technology outside; this personal trainer was preoccupied with her cell phone and in a moment, gone:

I used an Up for a while but got over it. I already go to the gym regularly and don't need to keep track or the motivation. It was mostly for the sleep tracking and the vibration alarm but even that was meh, no point in tracking how badly I slept if it doesn't tell me how to fix it. The gadget I love is my iPod Shuffle, it's made so perfectly with a clip. I also enjoy using a HRM/GPS watch but that's more like a nice-to-have.

              I doubt it very much

I've started to walk on a local beach (while listening to ambience on my Bose AE2 ) and thoroughly enjoying the experience - Jasus, I sound like Glenn Mederios

how often do you stare at a computer screen? that can muck up a persons sleep. or not enough sex, that can also be an issue. Have you tried 3 cups of epsom salt and a hot bath with Valerian Root tea (I suggest 2 tea bags).

I've tried everything! My latest experiment is with acupuncture, that actually seems to be helping.

I've heard multiple success stories about acupuncture. For some reason, I feel like summer time is the season most people experience some type of sleep pattern disruption.

I use the native Fitbit app. I'm not much of a jogger / runner but living in the hills, I use the inclines and try and fast-walk 6+ miles every day. Certainly gets my heartrate going.

If you use an iPhone, someone has made an app that ports data over to Apple Health and vice-versa.

I also upgraded my Fitbit from the base model to the one with heartbeat sensor and use the additional information in the app regularly (heart rate, water consumption, sleep times, weight changes). I bought the Fitbit Aria weighing scale last year and it connects automatically to my app. I've managed to lose about 8 lbs in two weeks, which is a slow loss rate for my metabolism but that's primarily because I love my wines

I am self-motivated at this point (been regularly exercising for 3 weeks) but the competitive kick you get when seeing your friends step-count and staying on top of the charts always give that little extra boost and rewarding feeling for doing what you're doing.

If fitness and health doesnt become a habit in our 30's it's not like it's gonna be any easier in our 40's
Glad to see peeps taking it more seriously. But at the end of the day, it's gonna be somewhat enjoyable or I won't wanna do it over the long term. And that's where the right tunes come in. That silk music tune that Unkle posted in The most beautiful.... thread, I listen to that at the gym on repeat lately. Very good tune

How far? Zover was 4th in Strava's MTS challenge last month, averaging over 160 miles a week.

This is a great idea, Kamal - hopefully you guys can find like minded individuals that can commit to the training that you're striving for. I find that when doing work outs with other people that you know, they can be a great motivator in helping you push your limits and help you get the most out of your activities. The key is finding people that are as honestly motivated and aren't going to be prone to making a new year's resolution type commitment that peters out after a couple of months.

Myself, I find that I like to do things alone at the gym - get immersed in the music on my iPod and listen closely to what my body is telling me when fatigue sets in or I feel like I'm coming close to injury or if I need to change up my routine slightly if I feel bored or like I'm plateauing. I find some technology like fitbit a bit of a distraction and could cause me to deviate from my goals, but I completely concede that it could be I haven't found the right tech to compliment my fitness goals.
Score so far: Owned ZoverTard 8 times - twice in one week! Twice more in same weekend.

More than six months later - he's still pissed LOL - check the last visitor - guess who the last visitor is on my profile page.
