    Release Notes:

    01. Cid Inc. - Gibil (Original Mix) [microCastle | MCSL024LP]

microCastle is pleased to present the second installment of the Cid Inc Collection. Released in September of 2013 the first edition showcased many of the Swedish artist's finest originals and remixes at the time. The compilation was a huge success and it introduced many of Cid Inc's newer fans to standout moments on his discography which they previously hadn't heard.

Now nearly two years removed the Cid Inc. sound has continued to evolve, innovate and flourish. A July 2014 appearance on Anjunadeep was flanked with the Hernan Cattaneo directed Sudbeats Volume 2 and Balance 026 compilations. By year's end Cid Inc. had signed the much sought after 'Guardian' to Guy J's Lost & Found Records.

Widely regarded as his career best work it was released in January of 2015 and was closely followed with the equally brilliant 3 track 'Temazcal' EP courtesy of Sudbeat Music. Cid Inc's unique fusion of techno beats, funk laden grooves and progressive minded sensibilities continues to be one of the underground's freshest sounds.

Seven years have passed since the inception of project and the Swedish producer is still steadily revered for bridging the progressive and techno genre barriers. The second installment of the Cid Inc. Collection once again features some of his finest productions from the last three years.

Highlighting the LP are several originals and remixes which were heavily played by Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J, most notably the rhythmic beast 'Darpa' and a melancholic take on 'Freeloader' by Aussie producer Rich Curtis. Also included on the project are five previously unreleased tracks, some of which showcase a little heard side of Cid Inc's studio repertoire.

The opening piece 'Gibil' serves as the ultimate mood setter with its melancholic tones and cinematic drift. Broken rhythms and a wall of growling bass add to its slow burning inflection which perfectly sets up the second unreleased piece 'Orbiter'. Equally haunting at the outset it's deliberate, mid tempo groove is decorated with commanding rhythms and deconstructed vocals, which deliver a wickedly hypnotic effect.

The third unreleased production 'Say No More' comes as the collection reaches its apex. Following peak time stormers like 'Tepoztlan', 'Say No More' is a classic Cid Inc. style production with its rolling grooves, acidic rhythms and tripped out vocal loops which carry you further into the vortex.

The fourth unreleased piece 'Cetacea' comes as the collection is winding to a close. This oceanic themed creation brings the tempo down a touch with a groovy foundation and nautical designs which delight the senses.

The release is capped off with the appropriately titled 'Ilmatar'. Derived from Finnish mythology and meaning 'female air spirit' or 'goddess of air' it's celestial ambiance is a fitting end to this exhilarating sonic journey.

We'd like to thank Change Audio, DAR, FutureForm Music, Iboga Records, Mooseekaa, Plastik Park, Soundteller Records, Sudbeat Music, Tenampa Recordings and of course Cid Inc's own Replug imprint for their contributions here.

    04. Ryan Crosson - Cadets In Heat (Original Mix) [Visionquest | VQ051]

The Visionquest label is proud to present its next musical statement, this time from founding member Ryan Crosson. Coming hot on the heels of a still essential EP from Shaun Reeves and Tucillo, this one is a solo effort from Ryan that features three trademark cuts of supple and sublime techno and house.

Detroit born, London based Ryan is currently on tour with Visionquest, playing dates all over Europe and America, and is all set for another busy summer in Ibiza, where he will be one of the experts at this year’s Emerging Ibiza.

Opening up in moody techno style with ‘Cadets in Heat’, Crosson lays down a frictionless groove and embellishes it with all sorts of the hi tek soul flourishes that have characterised the sound of his native Detroit over the years, from lithe electronic synth lines to crashing percussive patterns. Both elements add real tension and the way the pads smear out in the background really heightens the sense of emotional weight and resonance to this most standout track.

‘On the Rise’ is then a more propulsive and direct cut. It’s deep, with rubbery kick drums and elastic synth lines, and is the sort of uplifting, intergalactic house affair that will take any DJ set to the next level. Lastly, ‘D!!!” is a frantic, high tempo, big hitting track with corrugated drums, vocal yelps and thick, gurgling bass that is part sleazy, part bumpy and part jacking. It’s a monster, for sure!

This EP proves Crosson has continued to evolve since his last outing and really can master a wide range of dance styles.

    Release Date: 01 June 2015

    05. Mariano Mellino & Juan Astudillo - Kanikoom (Original Mix) [MNL | MNL066]

We welcome Argentinian duo Mariano Mellino & Juan Astudillo on board for their first collab release; 'Kanikoom EP'. Between the two have them they've released on well respected labels such as Sudbeat, Lowbit, Asymmetric, Mirabilis, Plattenbank and Sound Avenue to name a few, so you know what to expect. Both the title track 'Kanikoom' as well as 'Bistrooke' are cleverly produced lush progressive house tracks in the classic meaning of the genre. Tracks that will take you on a warm and fuzzy journey, eyes closed and let the music take you away. No need to use more words to decribe this, just listen!

    Release Date: 13 July 2015

    06. Bob Zopp & Naz - A Morte [Lowbit Records | LBR163]

Bob Zopp & Naz joins Lowbit with 'A Morte'. One half of Progress Inn "Desaturate" delivers the first remix and MNR drops the tempo for a laidback groover!

    Release Date: 08 June 2015

    07. Mariano Mellino & Robots Cry - Tempelhofer [unreleased]

Mariano Mellino was born in Buenos Aires, and is now based in Berlin. Maturing more with every production Mariano has a fanstastic new 4 track EP our on Sudbeat Music [SB073].

    08. Hermanez - Irritates Me [ELEVATE | ELV26]

The latest EP off Pig & Dan’s ‘Elevate’ comes from the über talented Belgian producer, Hermanez who teams up with fellow countryman BP, and it’s called ‘Fast Capture’.

Both Hermanez and BP seem to feed off each other’s strengths, and the result is gratifying. Rather than experiment with a 100 different samples rolled into one track, there’s a very organic undertone to the EP that showcases the strengths of both artists, that compliment each other perfectly.

Right off the bat, the title track ‘Fast Capture’ is filled with melodies and a catchy beat that it could sit right at the middle of a peak time set. It isn’t just the melodies that are addictive, the energy that Fast Capture gives off is enough to get the crowd going.

Octa Motus, the second track off the release is dark and gritty. There’s a low-slung vibe to this one, and has sinister undertones that are embodied in some very authentic percussions. This one stood as a personal favourite for me, simply because there are some convoluted twists that elevate the track to whole new heights.

Rounding off this strong EP comes ‘Irritates Me’. With a longer introduction that incorporates percussions and a strong bassline, there is a rougher edge to this track, which finally breaks into minimal, yet evocative melodies that tie the entire track together.

The Elevate label showcases micro-styles of techno, and highlights every release with equal élan. I shall iterate and reiterate that you need to go and buy this EP.

    Release Date: 15 June 2015
