For the record, I haven't particularly cared for Deep Dish's recent work. But I was however, mentally capable (without heavy medication) of 'walking' by this thread without saying that. It was obviously started by someone who likes Deep Dish and was merely an informational tool. None of us have heard the album, thus none of us can accurately say whether it will suck or not (save for a few tracks). I may have over 6000 posts, but you people need to get out more. </soapbox>

sure is a polished cover alright.....hes wearing a headband and hes MAD. hes mad as hell that someone cemented their feet into the terrain of mediocrity from which they cant escape....and it looked so promising in the begininng...kind of. at least they had hope then.

WTF is that flashdance song!! my god its really embarrassingly bad. and look...i love stevie nicks as much as the next fleetwood mac fan..but i HIGHLY doubt deep dish seduced an IOTA of sincerity out of her artistically. they couldnt succeed at that with anyone.

the bad news is it wont result in any sales...you know we'll all just DL the record from soul seek, skip through it...confirm its nauseating..then delete it from itunes cause its a cancer and is taking up precious room on our hard drive were not willing to part with even though WE STOLE IT....

Every artist goes through ups and downs...consistency is the key.

Just look at how people evaluate Sasha. One week they hate him...can't stand what he's doing with Ableton vs. Vinyl / CDR.

Now they love him...back and forth.

...but everyone does suck except the people i like to iisten to. if that wasnt the case, album and single sales would be equal and no one would try very hard to produce music thats special cause everyone would love everything equally and thus nothing would stand out.

same with football teams. i love one team, the rest suck my balls...especially the ones in our division.

i hope youre not saying that its okay to THINK something is subpar but dont actually SAY its subpar. its actually LESS fair for me to think that any team would suck. its just a uniform. in deep dish, i feel like they actually give us REASON...GOOD reason to think theyre bad, and really more precisely-that theyre just not trying. especially when it seems like if theyre trying anything, its that theyre just trying to make money first and music second....in my opinion...

I disagree with you 110% on this one. Just because something doesn't necessarily appeal to my ears doesn't mean it sucks. What a pretentious attitude that is! Well Mr. Mick Jagger, your music doesn't really do it for me, so you suck. I'm sorry, I have a little less arrogance than that.

My argument lies with the fact that this thread wasn't set up by ecpolonyc to be a 'What's your opinion on Deep Dish?' or 'How do you think the new album is going to be?' And yeah, I know, this is the internet, blah, blah, blah. But I guess I just find it disheartening and petulant to rain on someone's parade.

Definitely not defending Deep Dish as much as I'm attempting to defend the integrity and respect of this board. Admittedly it's becoming a pointless battle with the attitudes of some people. I guess we're getting more and more defectors from GU and the like.
