    Release Date:

    01. Dusky - Skin Deep (Global Communication Remix) [17 Steps | 17STEPS005R]

Drawing out the ambient strains of the original, Global Communication founder Tom Middleton has reworked Dusky’s ’Skin Deep’ and brought back the Global Communication name for the first time since 1997.

With their critically acclaimed ’76:14’ LP in 1993, Global Communication (Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard) were responsible for one of the most iconic works of ‘90s ambient and electronica - sitting alongside records like The Orb’s ‘Adventures Beyond The Underworld’ , Future Sound of London’s ‘Lifeforms’ and ‘Selected Ambient Works 85 - 92’ by old friend and occasional collaborator of Middleton, Aphex Twin.

Resurrecting the moniker in style with a hint of new original material to come, GC founder Tom Middleton has turned in an epic blend of classic 90’s jungle, ambient and IDM elements that unravels all the ambient textures and melodic depth of Dusky’s original into 8:08 seconds of nostalgic bliss.

“Despite being released over 20 years ago, Global Communication’s ’76:14’ still sounds as vital and relevant today. With so much depth, texture and emotion, the LP is a truly immersive listening experience and has stood the test of time like few other albums. It was a huge inspiration when we were growing up, exploring different sides of electronica, and has remained a favourite for us across the years. When we were thinking on possible remixers for ‘Skin Deep’, we knew we wanted someone special and we knew we wanted someone who would get to the heart of the melodies and textures in the breakdown…. Global Communication made perfect sense. Tom has totally delivered, creating something that draws on the heritage of the ambient sound, but also feels current and modern.”Dusky

“Traditionally the Global Communication philosophy is all about distilling and channeling pure emotions into sound. Dusky’s productions stand well apart from the current wave of mediocre 90’s style soundalikes by being both reverentially respectful to their 90’s inspiration but clearly paving the way forward in their harmonic content, emotional purity and production discipline. Even without the stems, I could feel the intensity in the original string and pad harmonies, and the potential in the lyrics.

"These led me into the depths of ambient soundscaping experiments with classic GC synth arpeggiation and TB303 flourishes for the initial dubbed out remix direction. Dropping in a surprise gritty old school jungle breakbeat or two after the drop was pure instinct from producing/DJing since 1990! I just had to take the track into anthemic one more tune warehouse party territory to induce a screwface eyes-closed bass and beats moment...A genuine pleasure to remix.” Tom Middleton (Global Communication)

    Release Date: 04 September 2015

    02. Guy J - Nirvana [Bedrock Records | Promo]

Advance promo from Guy J's forthcoming Bedrock album.

    03. Ulf Bonde - Blossom For Me [Culprit LA | CP057]

In Ulf Bonde we have a very talented and promising young LA-based producer on our hands. Culprit’s last release of the summer is the assured artist debut of Ulf Bonde and the welcome return of Justin Jay to the label. With ‘Blossom For Me’ Culprit get to fulfill two of its essential aims as a label: to uncover and provide a platform for fresh talent and to nourish young Los Angeles-based producers.

    Release Date: 28 September 2015

    04. Locked Groove - Namibia [Something Happening Somewhere | SOMEWHERE02]

SoHaSo's saga continues with a sound selection of singlets. Singular recordings from separate artists, bound together through Nuno Dos Santos' spellbinding powers of creation and combination. The result is SOMEWHERE I and II. Two compilations to be released digitally later this summer, with this vinyl sampler as a first taste of what's to come.

    Release Date: 11 September 2015

    05. Tanov - Salicorne (Simon Garcia Start Up Remix) [Parallel Label | PARALLEL017]

Parisian DJ/Producer Tanov makes he debut on Parallel with the excellent SALICORNE EP, backed by an equally impressive remix from Simon Garcia. The title track flows with an air of mystery, rising on a smooth and yet techy jet stream. Juicy Flesh sits in the shadows, its spine tingling chimes echoing but the beats never pushing it into the light. Spanish producer Simon Garcia delivers a trademark flourish to Salicorne. Notching the original up a couple of gears and gently but firmly guiding it to a more progressive dancefloor.

    Release Date: 25 September 2015

    06. Joeski vs Mazzy Star - Fade Into You (Joeski Edit) [Capitol Records | Promo]

    Limited info.

    07. Montel - Horizons [MadTech Records | 5014524590430]

Kerri Chandler’s MadTech Record is back with a new compilation this September, entitled ‘MadTech 03’ and comprising fourteen original tracks from many leading names in contemporary house music.

It’s been yet another fantastic year for MadTech with releases from the likes of Cera Alba, Artifact and Kalyde, picking up support along the way from the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Huxley, Dubspeeka and BBC Radio 1’s Monki. Here the label returns with yet another hard hitting various artists package, with the likes of PMR’s No Artificial Colours, Bontan, Circus’s Yousef and Leftwing & Kody all delivering brand new exclusive material for the comp.

In true MadTech fashion the ‘03’ compilation offers up an array or raw, dance floor focused house cut ranging from the hypnotic and infectious grooves of Rockaforte’s ‘Hyper Muzik’ and Lupe Fuentes & Javi Lopez’ ‘To Perfection’, through to more direct house workouts from Max Chapman, No Artificial Colours, Bontan and Rich Wakley.

Montel takes things into old school realms with the organ drenched ‘Horizons’, SEFF and Kashii bring a bassy edge to things with skippy and pitched vocal chops, while Demarzo and Fabricio Pecanha tip the focus into darker realms with a more progressive, electronic focus. All in all MadTech once again deliver fourteen essentials tracks for the current climate of modern electronic music.

    Release Date: 04 September 2015

    08. Róisín Murphy - Jealousy (Greg Wilson & Derek Kaye Remix) [Crosstown Rebels | CRM147]

The prolific production partnerships of Greg Wilson & Derek Kaye, Timo Maas & James Teej and the solo force of Citizenn take Róisín Murphy’s ‘Jealousy’ to new levels with fresh remixes of the smash single released earlier this year.

Róisín Murphy’s compelling vocals are set in new bright landscapes by disco dons Greg Wilson & Derek Kaye, London retro-futurist Citizenn hot of the heels of his debut album on Crosstown Rebels and Timo Maas & James Teej. Co-written and produced by the great Sheffield bastion of house, The Crooked Man AKA DJ Parrot (Crooked Man), formally of Sweet Exorcist (Warp) and All Seeing I (FFRR).

Róisín Murphy has become one of the most competent, enduring and influential figures in the pop, disco and electronic music worlds. The Irish singer-songwriter originally broke into the charts as the frontwoman for Moloko, delivering music that was leftfield electronic and pop-orientated. Her consequent output, three stunning solo albums, and Mi Senti a beautiful Italian language EP with The Vinyl Factory alongside guest vocal presence on labels like Hot Creations and Permanent Vacation have ensured Róisín’s enduring legacy and constant evolution as an artist.

‘Jealousy’ was also mixed by the legendary Eric Kupper, who was a production partner with Frankie Knuckles and Dave Morales and whose K-Scope releases were a staple of 90's American NY House.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.
