well,
digweed brought his show to town last night....and what a show it was.
luke morrison started at around 9pm, and around 9:30 or 10 informed me that sean cusick was not gonna be able to play. needless to say, i was a bit pissed, cause i've never caught cusick live. that is...until luke kicked it up a notch. i've seen luke play many many times, and lemme tell ya, this was his best performance to date. he was dropping some deep dark proper fucking house music; phenomenal stuff. i honestly dont think cusick could have done any better.
then john came on around 12:00, and proceeded to tear the place appart. over the 3 hours he played, i only recognized one tune (the bedrock remix of 'closer 2 me'). and john was definitely on a house/prog tip last night. very little electro/tech...good news to many who are going to see him soon, i'm sure.
the show was over way too fast, and all i'm left with is a raspy voice and a mild hangover.
so props to john, but especially to luke, who put himself up and proved he can play on a world-class stage last night. we're gonna be hearing more from him in the future, thats for sure.
