^gotta say it has to do all with mtv and marketing. when shit is on tv and right there for people to absorb, this has to do wonders for the uptake of you product, bad or good. there wasn't really such a thing as mtv back when the beatles were around. granted there was radio etc, but id say this never was as encompassing as mtv was at its peak.
case in point? look at dr dre's beat headphones. its been specifically noted these are pretty shit headphones. dre's marketing didn't market them by making them better, they've used product placement to make them popular.Comment
