    Re: hernan cattaneo

I'm sure its been discussed before, but Hernan has been Great at times, and OK at times. He and Dj Spiker (who promoted him here, and uploaded his sets to bittorent on the Colirio Site), had a major fallen out. They still haven't made up.

Spiker made a negative critique on Hernans web site blog of one of Hernans sets. He said it was crap. Hernan came back and slammed Spiker for his comments. Hernan can't handle somebody saying something he doesn't like to hear, and Spiker was probably Hernan biggest promoter all over the web.

So maybe Hernan is going thru a phase, who knows.

i know, ive read plenty of it. i used to download plenty of hernans sets from Colirio website, courtesy of DJ Spiker, and i just dont like what has happened.

hernan has come to melbourne twice, and both times, he rocked. ive listened to the southfest set, and apart from the first track, the bjork remix, the rest is not up to his best. hey, but thats my opinion... :P

has anyone seen him play recently?

I seen him about a month ago in Cyprus and he was bangin'. Didn't get to see all of his set though only manged the first 3 of 5 hours. Going to see him again next month at Creamfileds UK.

Saw him at Turnmills in May ... he was ok, but seemed to suffer from following Oakey rather then opening for him and building a set - he played faster and harder then I've heard him play before, and was spinnin that mediocre electro that's doing the rounds.

On the other hand if you hear him spin more of a house set, I can certainly say that Hernan was on top from at the Def Mix night @ Pacha Ibiza last year.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.
