    Release Notes:

    01. Daso - Bold & Bold [Bedrock Records | Beddigi72]
    06. Daso - Ashvem Beach [Bedrock Records | Beddigi72]

“Music and love are the most important things in my life, and this message I want to spread through my songs. Love not only to people but to all kinds of beings and things.” - Daso

Daso Franke was born in Poona (India) and at the age of five was using the dance floor of his father’s disco as a playground, growing up with the music of Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix and radio pop. Now, living in Berlin, this multi-talented music producer, live act and party machine, is one of the most exciting artists to emerge in recent times on the never-ending rollercoaster ride that is the modern electronic music circus. He is now set to make his emphatic debut on John Digweed’s Bedrock Records with two stunning creations.

“Bold and Bold” with its sensuously seductive motifs, deeply hypnotic groove backbone, all hallmarked with Daso’s defining elegance and style, is perfectly suited to Bedrock’s forward-thinking creative ethos. In the same way, the energetic, yet subtle throb of “Ashvem Beach” mixes acidic undertones with ethereal beauty into a stunningly effective concoction that is both refreshing and mesmerizing.

If you haven’t had the chance to witness Daso’s live performances, they come highly recommended. From emotional house, that can abruptly and unexpectedly morph into rave hymns and powerful techno, he controls the crowd by creating ecstatic moments through perfectly timed changes of style. Daso is a rare talent, an extraordinary artist and performer, whose Bedrock debut will surely be lighting up dancefloors everywhere for many moons to come.

    Release Date: 23 November 2015

    02. Dave Angel - Orion (Original Mix) [Bedrock Records | Beddigi71]

Referencing one of the great fights of Greek mythology, Dave Angel’s two new titanic Techno tracks for John Digweed’s Bedrock duel for dominance, in what is undoubtedly a supreme return to the label from the Godfather of the UK’s Techno scene. Set for release in the time whilst Scorpio is the current and reputedly the most powerful sign of the zodiac, it looks like the stars are aligned to perfection.

“Scorpion” has already featured exclusively in Eats Everything’s BBCR1 Essential Mix, recorded live at T In The Park, and is set to fly. Built around a sophisticated, multi-layered, hip-swinging groove, its ever-evolving, hypnotic, melodic bounce builds magically through a series of stunning breakdown crescendos into a totally mesmerising and unforgettable masterpiece.

The subtly powerful “Orion” takes a deeper, but no less impressive melodic route to total groove engagement. Interspersing proceedings with teasing vocal snippets and subtle euphoric synth swells proves to be another a winning formula. Both tracks demonstrate exactly why Dave remains such a driving force today, having evolved and matured stylistically over the years, since his early heart-stopping techno outings more than 2 decades ago now.

The son of a jazz musician, Dave Angel’s first musical instrument (appropriately) was a drum at age of eight, so it’s no surprise that he developed an ear for a good groove. Since entering the consciousness of the techno community in 1990, he has pretty much remained there ever since. Although he’s London born and bred, he has been making records like he's from Detroit with a distinctive twist of funk and jazz for years. Dave Angel is one of the scene’s true characters, giving off an aura of positivity like no other, a kind of warmth that you cannot fail to feel through his exceptional, uplifting music. You have two classic new examples here - enjoy!

    Release Date: 16 November 2015

    03. Oliver Huntemann - Pech [Senso Sounds | senso013]

Oliver Huntemann always delivers - especially on his own Senso imprint. After two decades at the forefront of the European scene, to see his name on a record gua- rantees deep and deeply accomplished techno with a precise, refined production and high-definition details.

Both tunes on this double-header live up to the billing. 'Pech' is a masterclass in the selection and combination of tone, texture and the thoughtful treatments applied to them. A long two-minute build paves the way for a sustained bass tone that teases the listener with well-timed pitch bends. Elements unfold and flower organically as the tune reaches its climax of dancing synth lines.

'Schwefel' takes a voyage into more eerie territory, full of echo and distant music- box pings. Huntemann balances these delicate melodic sounds with gritty synth repetitions that finally win the day to deliver a surging, stirring and deeply memo- rable roller.

    Release Date: 16 November 2015

    04. Marco Resmann - 100 [Upon You Records | UY100]

One hundred. Three digits. Finally we've made it and we're proud to announce that we've reached a milestone that every label aims for: the one hundredth release in a continous sequence of catalogue numbers. And what a journey it has been over the course of the past eight years.

To celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime event no-one less than Marco Resmann himself comes up with a dedicated 12 single that's not only named '100 but also comes as a special gold vinyl edition plus gold label prints and seethrough packaging that makes this record stick out amongst many in each and every vinyl lovers collection as well as in every DJ case.

The original version of '100 is a big room monster of a TechHouse tune, providing maximum tension through scattered shakers, carefully arranged synth sweeps and long, strident build ups introducing dark, psyched out and proggy bass and midrange warps leading towards an ultimate climax whenever this tune is hammered through a club rig.

On the flipside we see the 'Jubiläums Mix' of '100 following intense spiralling basslines all through the course of the night whilst layers and layers of ecstatic stabs and a continuous swell of uplifting, positive synths introduces crowds to high-octane levels of buzzing dancefloor energy. What a blast.

    Release Date: 14 December 2015

    05. Theo Kottis - UFO (Michael Mayer Remix) [Moda Black | MB047]

Michael Mayer, Komapkt founder, producer, and globe-trotting DJ is a man who knows a thing or two about total-club-manipulation. His own work, and his remixes —and indeed his mixes— are testaments to the power of the unabashedly, unashamedly emotive. Those that know, know. For those that don't, please rectify this immediately.

Mayer's been let loose on Moda Black's Scottish sensation Theo Kottis' new single and the result is a sublimely dark floor filler. The "UFO" package, set to beam into stores worldwide on November 27th is backed by another great mix courtesy of Spanish producer Sau Poler.

His remix of Kottis' "UFO" remix is classic Mayer — a yearning, evocative, haunting and haunted chunk of emotional techno that pulls at the heartstrings while commanding the audience to dance into submission. It's a charnel house anthem in the making, a delicately desiccated future classic. Check it out in full below.

    Release Date: 27 November 2015

    07. Marc Romboy & Blake Baxter - Follow The Sound [Systematic Recordings | SYST0108-6]

Detroit house mentor and pioneer Blake Baxter (Underground Resistance, Tresor) and Systematic head Marc Romboy are teaming up fort he already eighth time in order to present us their defintion of real techno music.

"Follow the sound" ist he message this time which means wes hall go with the flow when the beat hits our mind.

Version 1 comes along in a typical rough way, whereas the second version represents the very deep and old school house shades of their works.

    Format // 12" + Digital
    Catalog Nr // SYST0108-6
    EAN // 880319737312
    Release Date: 04 December 2015

    08. Yousef - Are You Ready [Circus Recordings | CIRCUS056]

After a short series of collaborations and an acclaimed release on Bptich Control, the Circus Recordings label owner Yousef returns with a multi dexterous three track EP.

With its relentless mantra Are You Ready opens the EP with an almost eccentric stamp of authority. Swirling analogue acid, block percussion and Yousef's trademark weighty production expansively swell to an almighty crescendo before expertly dropping back into its killer groove.

Touch Me although at only 120bpm is another huge sounding techno track. The drums and the bass pulsate throughout as the edited vocals chant raising the heat to fever level. Thunderous.

Riding at 127 bpm WannaBee begins as a more stripped back tidier concern. As the track unfolds analogue drums stabs and busy programming begin to sneak into play giving its a classic 90's techno texture.

    Release Date: 16 November 2015

    09. Luciano ft. JAW - 7direction(s) (Dennis Ferrer Drum Mix) [Cadenza Music | CADENZA105]

You can guarantee that Luciano always comes through with a signature tune once a year, and of late has leisurely road tested singles like ‘Rise Of Angel’ and ‘Cachai’ at clubs, festivals and at his Ibiza residencies for full seasons, before releasing the fruits of his labor.

And so 2015 throws up “7directions” featuring JAW on the vocal, a mesmerizing and low-slung track that’s already getting pole position in Luciano’s sets, ending his momentous off-Sonar show at El Poble Espanyol with it, as well as becoming a staple at his weekly Vagabundos residency at Space in Ibiza this season.

New York house royalty, Dennis Ferrer, sprinkles the track with his own inimitable style, a sound that has crafted hit records and undergound bombs since the 90s, for labels like Nite Grooves, Defected, Ibadan and his own Objektivity label.

And to complete this huge package, Matthew Herbert joins the party with a head scrambling “One Direction Dub” mix. The UK sound designer has mesmerized and innovated over the last two decades with some stunning music on his own Accidental label as well as remixes for the likes of Moloko, Jamie XX, Björk and a host of others.

On the Original Mix, brooding pads and spikey synths linger over a spacious drum pattern, live drum fills and claps bouncing off the bass pulses, as wandering keys usher in the unmistakable tones of JAW AKA Jonathan Illel, the musician and vocalist extraordinaire who ply’s his trade with the French electronic group DOP and as a guest on recordings from artists like Mirko Loko and Guillaume & The Coutu Dumounts amongst many others.

“7directions” is perhaps one of Luciano’s more understated productions; it’s a sprawling and sultry journey, with deft melodic touches and intricate production techniques, taking care not to become cluttered, rather using the space is enunciate the sheer hypnotism stored within and for JAWs vocals to glide over the listener without fanfare or dramatic clichés.

Luciano feat. JAW, “7directions”, will be released in December 2015 on Cadenza. No doubt anyone who caught Luciano this Summer will already be acquainted with this infectious release.
