    RIP Scott Weiland

I've posted his music here before in the "what are you listening to thread" as a couple of you might recall.... really sad. I listened to STP a lot during high school and college and to this day. Weiland really loved singing and it came across in his work ethic and sound. He will undoubtedly be missed by many.

The only surprise about his death, was that he actually made it to 48!

Ya that's kind of true isn't it mate. Selfishly I'm sad when artists I admire die. Did you watch the 2nd video I posted? He seemed to really be into his new band/sound, etc.

Wasn't a fan, but respected the talent, even if STP, Velvet Revolver and his other projects weren't my taste.

He was genuinely talented, but extremely troubled from what I read about him. Hopefully he's found the peace that he never could find during his lifetime.

Didn't he do a track with The Crystal Method?
Score so far: Owned ZoverTard 8 times - twice in one week! Twice more in same weekend.

More than six months later - he's still pissed LOL - check the last visitor - guess who the last visitor is on my profile page.

RIP Scott. I was kinda of suprised but not. He has been in and out of rehab forever. I was always a fan of STP.

Was on their 2nd album. I used to play the creamer & k mix, and the koma & bones mix

I sympathize with her on this for sure, balance is something everyone struggles with. When you add in a serious drug addiction it can make balance nearly impossible. Doesn't change my affinity for STP but is a good reminder that being a rock star or any kind of high profile artist comes at a big cost, mostly to themselves and their loved ones.

Having said that, this woman had some serious demons as well -
                              http://www.harpercollins.com/9780061...fall-to-pieces

This is the final step in our long goodbye to Scott. Even though I felt we had no other choice, maybe we never should have let him go. Or maybe these last few years of separation were his parting gift to us – the only way he could think to soften what he knew would one day crush us deep into our souls. Over the last few years, I could hear his sadness and confusion when he'd call me late into the night, often crying about his inability to separate himself from negative people and bad choices. I won't say he can rest now, or that he's in a better place. He belongs with his children barbecuing in the backyard and waiting for a Notre Dame game to come on. We are angry and sad about this loss, but we are most devastated that he chose to give up.
Noah and Lucy never sought perfection from their dad. They just kept hoping for a little effort. If you're a parent not giving your best effort, all anyone asks is that you try just a little harder and don't give up. Progress, not perfection, is what your children are praying for. Our hope for Scott has died, but there is still hope for others. Let's choose to make this the first time we don't glorify this tragedy with talk of rock and roll and the demons that, by the way, don't have to come with it. Skip the depressing T-shirt with 1967-2015 on it – use the money to take a kid to a ballgame or out for ice cream.

Mary Forsberg Weiland is the mother of the late singer Scott Weiland's teenage children, Noah, 15, and Lucy, 13. She wrote this with their help in the days after his death on Dec 3rd.
