Re: The Revenant
A little too long for my taste but it's a great movie no doubt..
Di Caprio is such an amazing actor, should win the Oscar for this movie and a couple more for some memorable performances in the past.
8/10

Re: The Revenant
I didn't find it to be long - but I also was completely captivated by every frame. I wouldn't have minded another hour.
It was fun while it lasted...Comment

Re: The Revenant
The amount of skill and patience that the director employed in order to make this - extremely long takes in outdoor locations for most of the film, only using natural lighting during the shoot and the willingness to use minimal CGI when only necessary (the bear attack) is beyond impressive, but then again, Inarritu directed Birdman and did a fantastic job of making the movie seem like one long, seamless take. It's nothing short of a master class in direction with Inarritu pushing his own boundries in storytelling and technique and he succeeds spectacularly.
The score by Ryuchi Sakamoto is excellent, as are the preformances from the cast - Domhall Gleeson in particular made an impression and has had a fantastic year with this, Ex Machina and Star Wars all in the same year.Score so far: Owned ZoverTard 8 times - twice in one week! Twice more in same weekend.

I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.Comment

Re: The Revenant
I had to look up his involvement in Star Wars, I did not recognize him at all!! He always played such a hapless character (About Time), the turnabout in Star Wars is so unexpected.

Re: The Revenant
Sign of a good actor is not being able to recognize them.
He's going places. He's the son of Irish actor Brendan Gleeson who you've probably seen in Gangs of New York, In Bruges, Edge of Tomorrow, The Guard and a ton of other stuff. Got a great mentor if he's got his dad coaching him in the craft.Score so far: Owned ZoverTard 8 times - twice in one week! Twice more in same weekend.
