    Chicago

So, Iīll be in Chicago for 5 days in April (canīt remember the exact days). I made some research about attractions and things to do there.
Of course, the parks by the lake, the Wrigleyīs Field, some cd stores, and David Gilmourīs concert
My lady is pregnant, so itīs gonna be easy, just a little nightlife (a.k.a. a couple of beers... for me).
    Any recommendations? thanks!!
    Itīs a spiritual thing!

Best burger in the world is at Au Cheval in the west loop. Go during lunch, expect to wait.15-30 mins, or i've often snagged a bar seat if just two people. Try to go in the evening, expect to wait...hours. Yes you want the pork belly on it, and fried egg is up to you. It's ridiculous.

Beers - Northdown, Hopleaf, Map Room, really depends on what part of the city you're staying in tho. The city is full of excellent bars that don't require much effort or fuss.

Bang Bang Pie shop for breakfast.

All of Rick Bayless' mexican joints are hot fire.

        Shed Museum is dope.

Navy Pier is a fucking tourist trap- avoid.

Lou Malnati's is the deep dish spot, tho i don't like deep dish pizza. NY > Chicago when it comes to pie.

My favorite part of the city is Logan Square area. Lots of cool bars, food spots, independent shops etc.

The train will get you all over the city really easily.

Jenks, I copied your info, will check out every spot in it, and of course, will avoid that Pier. thanks!

Hoff: all this trip is because of Gilmourīs concert. I thought last December: heīs old, heīll never come to Argentina, I have to listen to him once in my lifetime. So my gf arranged the trip and bought the tickets. Two months later Gilmour announced the south american tour... but what the hell ! twice is better than once... besides, it wasnīt THAT good here in Buenos Aires.

far far music, as you say

                          Re: Chicago

                          well, some feedback:

first of all, many thanks for the advices. I took them seriously.

pizza: really loved Giordano's deep dish pizza over the rest of the places. Went a couple of time because my wife loved it too. Lou Malnati's pizza was good, too.

burgers: Au Cheval was ok, tasty food and nice place. We also liked the hamburgers of a place that's just across the street of the Apple's Store in the north hood of the city.

Shedd Aquarium: amazing. Really enjoyed it. The entrance line was long, but it was worth it.

Logan Square: nice place, nice people. It was the place I liked more. We had breakfast at bang bang pie, following the advice. Warm place, great pies! that day was snowing a lot.

Records/CDs: Reckless records, at the loop, was great. I found used CDs at 2 dollars or so. I went to another record store at Logan Square, can't remember the name. At the back of the store it has a secret door that access you to a vintage arcade room, free to play. Really dope, cool place.

Sears Tower: It's a must, but a very crowded place. We went at night to avoid the loooooong line. The view is great.

the parks in Chicago are beautiful, the cloud gate, the loop, avenues... really loved it. It was very windy and cold. It snowed a couple of days, which was good for us cause we don't see snow very often here.

David Gilmour's concert was out of this world. I've never been to big concerts outside Argentina. I was amazed by the place (Chicago Bulls' court), the sound quality, the organisation, and of course by David himself. I was at a distance of 45 feet from him, couldn't believe it. I almost cried all the second half of the show, really excited.

Thanks for all the advices!!! good info, appreciate

Chicago isn't named the Windy City because of the wind, it's it was named that because of it's full-of-air politicians in the early 1900s.
