    Crossfit

I've been doing this for the past 4 - 5 months, 3 to 4 times a week.. Feeling really great generally and body changes are more than any exercise i did before.. i am sure if i cut off beer, wine, whisky i would be ready for olympics

Its very intense and still hurts most of the days after lol but kinda lovin it though

    Does anyone tried Crossfit?

              Re: Crossfit

Crossfit incorporates of Olympic lifts at high repetition, high speeds, to failure. These lifts are not meant for such speeds in circuits. Maintaining the form when you're tired, at the speeds Crossfit performs them, IMO, is very difficult.

Once form breaks down, you'll hurt yourself.

You go into it with the best intentions of being careful but in Crossfit's competitive environment it's very easy to be blindsided.

I tried to lift my washing machine some years ago, resulting in a severe and very painful back injury for two months.
So I'm always a little surprised that people voluntarily lift heavy weights.
Besides, you can get your body in a really good shape without ever going to the gym or using expensive equipment.

But if you really like Crossfit, and your body is strong enough, keep doing it.

Jump rope, pull ups, sit ups, push ups.. And whatever other sport you can find time for.. In my case that's surfing which keeps me in good shape overall.

I I used to pay for gym memberships for years and slowly realized that it wasn't really working for me. I would gain muscle, but the to keep it going it took quite a bit of effort because I was obviously overreaching.

                      Re: Crossfit

I did Crossfit fairly regularly for about 8 months. Gave it up due to a nagging shoulder impingement. It works for athletes if you're conditioned and disciplined enough to keep proper form, but average joe doesn't have any business doing olympic lifts at high speed for time. Depending on the coaches/gym, the ramp up course often isn't enough to grasp proper form and technique before you're thrown into doing WODs. I've seen some with a 3 day ramp up course, that's not good. Mine was two weeks, better. Bottom line, just listen to your body (and your wallet, because it's fucking expensive) and you'll know if it's right for you.

This.. Not doing something terrible myself, just an intense work out 3 to 4 times a week (3 when i dont fully recover).. technique is without any doubt the key to avoid potential serious injuries. Just competing against myself, try to do it a little better every time.

Its working excellent for me so far, a great type of exercise...

Me personally I've been watching the http://www.calisthenic-movement.com/ guys and what they are doing. Looks like some serious extensions on old fashioned bodybuilding, and quite good as I see it. Now if only I could get my ass away from the friggin laptop. It really helps to have a buddy when doing these things.

Weirdest but coolest thing ever happened today.. My partner in crime in today class was Jimmy Van M .. First class for him.

I´ve already seen him a few times in the neighborhood but never ever imagined i´d would ended up doing burpees and pull ups with JVM

I was shy enough to only say "hey Jimmy i´m a big fan of your music" and had a little convo.. looks like he is a good fella

Btw still doing CF 3 to 4 times a week and no injuries yay!
