^ seen the ruling last night. Kinda sucks but I am sure there is going to be more appeals before anything goes into affect.

The way I intereperted it, is it is only for file sharing software that u purchase in the store....considering slsk is free and its only supposed to be used for non-studio sets...i woulndt think there would be an issue....

No the article mentions that the software is being distributed for free. I think everyone needs to boycott RIAA/MPAA products for a while. Hit em where it counts and send a message.

I can't believe the way the courts ruled on this. This is the equalivent of suing a gun manufacturer because someone used one of their products to murder someone.

It appears it's only for Morpheus and Grokster...garbage apps for the garbage mainstream.

The RIAA/Courts/etc can keep dragging this out, but all it's going to do is inspire hacker/programmers to create better appz to beat the system.

I have never saw SLSK have any mention in these lawsuits. I guess since they aren't known for sharing the pop bullshit from mtv they are immune to the suits...at least so far.

You can't have manslaughter without laughter.

"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."

They aren't mentioned by name, but the holding is broad enough to cover that technology as well. If it ever develops a large following, expect it to be a target.
