I would for space issues mp3. For sound use the original wav.

On a good club sound system you'd hardly be able to distinguish any differences between MP3 320 kbit and WAV. I would however advise against lower MP3 bitrates, because that could loose some vital dynamics of the orginal tune.

i wouldnt entertain anything under 192kbps, but of course .wav will be higher quality.

                WAV all the way...

Doesn't matter what Bit rate of MP3, your still losing some data from the file. 320Kbps is about as close as your your going to get to the original quality.

if presented the choice of mp3 or wav, go wav everytime... you can't go wrong with that

If you don't want people to try and punch you in the face because of low quality, use wav.

"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."

                      1st choice...WAV
                      2nd choice...320K MP3
3rd choice...192-320K MP3 (variable bit rate if you have it)
                      4th choice...160K MP3 (desperation)

                      128..forget it...

Consider also the soundsystem you're playing on...a basic-oriented place/small room setup, a 320K MP3 you're not going to notice...heck, even most 192's if encoded right (usually w/LAME, etc.) you'll hardly feel or notice much of a difference.

If you're on a superclub-type system, you'll probably hear some difference even at a 192.

MP3 CD's stay away from...burning issues sometimes, and scanning through tracks are not as full and precise as regular WAV/standard CD's.
