It's a damn shame that this film has to be about as good as Daredevil (well, slightly better, but that really isn't saying much) partly because of a pretty unimaginative and pedestrian film that doesn't manage to capitalize on the talent they have, and choose instead to dole out the screen time to just about everyone equally.
You probably already know the story - Scientist leads an expedition to study cosmic rays, mishap occurs and transforms them into superheros (with the exception to Victor Von Doom - who isn't a dictator of a small country, but a head of a corporation called Doom Industries). Super powers cause conflict, ass kicking starts, blah blah blah.
The reason to see this is for Chris Evans (who's a lot of fun with this) and Michael Chiklis (from TV's The Shield), as they offer the heart of the film and the most interesting characters. As for Jessica Alba and everyone else, they're pretty boring and the story doesn't really offer a hell of a lot of ideas that haven't been worn down to a nub already. It's a boring film with two good performances and three bad ones.
