so i realize i have totally missed the boat on this show, but i never really had time to watch it when it was at its best (seasons 1 thru 4) due to me having no life or spare time during my 5 year university career.
i caught one of the episodes from the first season late at night last week and it piqued my interest enough to rent the first season. i ended up watching it in marathon late-night sessions and got the entire thing out of the way in 2.5 days (for twenty two 45 minute episodes...ya i am really bored lately). purchased the second through fourth seasons over the last week, and have watched every damned episode in order.
i cant get over how amazingly well written and "tight" this show is. it has sparked a definite interest in politics, although it does make me wish the current US regime was even remotely as conscientious as the cast.
I have read that since aaron sorkin has left, the quality has suffered a bit (he left after the 4th season, along with one of my favourite characters, rob lowe). 5th season isnt out yet on dvd, but i may skip it and buy the 6th, where apparently the quality returns.
i know this isnt directly about politics, but i figure it may spark some discussion about the ideals fostered in the show. feel free to move this if necessary.
