    Kompakt

I was just wondering if any of you guys/gals on here were fans of this label. I remember a while back hearing that Digweed was into this label, but I always remember it from my minimal techno days of listening to Brinkmann and Mike Ink.

Do they really produce anything that would go down well on dancefloors? I really dug the minimal techno of Brinkmann, but don't think it would fit too well in one of my sets. Well maybe the beginning.

    Any thoughts on this one???

Checked a whole slew of their releases last time I was in a major record store, and made no purchases. Might sound bigger on a house system than headphones, but on the whole I didn't think they would suit a club night - more like a Holden mix CD.

Actually, there?s this Allen & Heath publicity I?ve seen in some mags where Digweed actually says Kompakt is his favourite label.

I also like a lot of their music, and I don?t see why it couldn?t be played in club...Superpitcher, Michael Mayer (very popular here), Wighnomy Brothers, Alter Ego...c?mon! Great dance music IMO.

Kompakt a good label. I have some rex the dig and micheal mayer stuff. But I am sure any of it can be played in a club given what type of set it is.

Yeah, Kompakt have loads of tracks that would work in clubs (although obviously lots that wouldn't either).

really good, different stuff that either works in the floor or great to kickback at home

I'll have to get back to their mp3 site and check it all out. It'd be interesting to have a few of their tracks to play out sometime.

Any ones in particular that I might look for?

that's a quality label right there. reminds me of Hooj and how everything they put out was good.

yes a large amount of there catalog would do very well on dance floors. but not the melodic prog dancefloors a lot of this board frequents. minimal tech is the shit.

                            Re: Kompakt

Kompakt is an extraordinary label. It has many quality releases from great producers such as Michael Mayer, Reinhard Voigt, Justus Kohncke, SCSI-9, The Orb, Rex the Dog and many others.

It's absurd to say Kompakt is not dancefloor-friendly. It all depends on the audience: it's quiet evident that an intransigent proghead won't dig it.

Other similar quailty labels that I'm very fond of are

                            - Treibstoff
                            - Sub Static
                            - Poker Flat
                            - Musik Krause
                            - Get Physical
                            - Boxer
                            - Traum Schallplatten / Trapez
                            - Sender
                            - Areal
                            - Palette
                            - Plug Research
                            - Immigrant
                            ...
