Gavin Hardkiss, Q-burns & Villo FREE OUTSIDE PARTY JULY

    Saturday, July 30th - 4pm until Midnight
On Top Entertainment, People for Parks, Distrakted Entertainment and Eighth Dimension Records Present:

a Free Party at 903 CitySide on beautiful Lake Eola...

    featuring Gavin Hardkiss aka: Hawke

Eighth Dimension Records is pleased to announce the release of the new album by Hawke, Love Won Another. Producer and DJ Gavin Hardkiss has a long history of influencing dance music with his releases on Sunburn, Six Degrees, Moonshine, and, of course, his own renowned Hardkiss label (where he released his classic "3 Nudes In A Purple Garden"). Love Won Another, Hawke's third full length album, harks back to an ambitious time of Balearic beats and dreamy, melodic indie dance production. Moving vocals singing hopeful lyrics combined with worldly (and often Latin-tinged) musicianship just add to the uniqueness of this effort. Uplifting tunes for a not-so-uplifting time and a brilliant contender for a perfect ?summer album?. Love wins again ... Love Won Another!?

"It's electronica with pop-rock vocals that T-Rex or Syd's Pink Floyd would make today. The entire LP is a sublime fusion of traditional sounds, modern equipment and contemporary attitudes." - Move On Magazine

"The wash of sounds mesh together like sand and sea, creating a perfectly relaxed atmosphere. You?ll struggle to find a better full-length release to usher in the summer solstice with. 5 out of 5." - DMC Update

"Gavin recently told me that Love Won Another's creation was inspired in part by my Invisible Airline album which is an awesome compliment. Hawke's latest is a fantastic mix of funk, feeling, electronics, and psychedlia that I'm totally enamored with. I think you'll like it quite a bit as well." - Q-Burns Abstract Message

and a live afro beat performance by:
    KG - www.k-gmusic.com

This Afro Urban sensation was born in Nairobi, Kenya in the summer of 1982. By the time K-G was 14, he was exposed to various genres of music and started gaining interest in music as a subject and a hobby. In the back of his mind he knew making it would be difficult without getting the proper exposure, especially coming from a middle class African family, in an African country which at that time had no proper music industry structure.

At the age of 17, K-G joined an accapella gospel group by the name of Nawez now known as Challayana. They met while in boarding school, where he was earning his high school education. Within two years the group had become one of the hottest Gospel groups in the region.

During this time K-G also took his music education seriously. He learned a lot in terms of vocal training and performance. With Nawez, K-G achieved a lot by performing alongside the best groups at the time in East Africa, as well as doing radio interviews and over 300 concerts in two years. During this period, the East African music industry underwent a change for the better; and hence laid the groundwork for K-Gs future. Some of his influences were artists like Seal, Papa Wemba, Lucky Dube, Bob Marley, and Wyclef Jean.

Later on he developed an interest in the Dave Mathews Band. In addition to his influences, his other backbone to music is his rich East African heritage. The region's music has over the years been influenced mainly by drum beats and accapella, elements found in K-Gs own style, coupled with the contemporary/urban mix. K-G brings to the forefront nothing less than authenticity.

all this terrific music will be hosted by our friends at:
