Underworld, John Do, Mirel Jarca and V-Sag

It?s that time of the week again. Annie Nightingale hosted an excerpt of a recent Underworld live gig from the Exit festival. It?s a short mix but nice to hear a fresh performance from Rick Smith and Karl Hyde and it helps reducing the time until their new album is out. In the beginning of the recording, Annie interviewed Karl for five minutes but it wasn't that interesting so it was cut out.

Gregor aka Barneyillfingas gave me a recent mix from John Do which was broadcasted on Proton in Mid July. It?s an excellent, relaxed summer house mix and if you would like to check more about John Do, you can do this here: http://www.protonradio.com/show.php?...amp;action=bio

I think I don't need to introduce Mirel Jarca anymore as we have hosted two sets from him already in the past and now it?s time for another one. This is a recording from a private party in a club where he played last wekend. Expect nothing but forwardgoing progressive party music.

An artist I discovered for me personally this year is the Greek DJ V-Sag. Since I heard the first mix from this guy, I am truly addicted to his sounds and I hope you will enjoy his mix broadcasted on Best 92.6 FM (same channel where G-Pal hosts his mixes) in June this year. He also had a guest mix on Mercurysessions this week which was awesome as well.

A last minute entry by public demand is the Video Hos took with his Digicam when Digweed played@Fabric in February this year. The sound is not great but you can get a good impression what the Fabric crowd is like. Also after you have seen the video, you can judge on your own if the set from Digweed which has popped out of Nowhere and makes it rounds now is a fake and/or has a wrong date or not. Happy guessing. :P

Oh and there`s another mix from a guy called John Digweed@Global Gathering online now. :P

Thanks Tom for hosting John's set. John has been sending Basic Frequency sets to bringthebeats for the most part of the year. Each one is of top quality, varying in style from deep tech to soulful house, all with a progressive base. This specific set however is one that stands apart from the rest.

If you like like light-hearted progressive house, this is the set for you. The first two tracks throw some off because of the vocals (I think they're perfect for a summer vibe) but once you get into the meat of the mix, you understand that they are an intregal part of direction of the set. John brings the listener through a wild and extremely fun ride throughout.

Luke Fair said to me almost two years back that John Do was the best DJ out of the US that he has opened for him. We've been killing his mixes all year at pre and after parties, but this one definitely is my fav.

          Thanks again MS,
          gregor
