TORONTO ? A passenger jet has caught fire after reportedly skidding off a runway at Toronto's Pearson International Airport. According to reports, black smoke billowed from the wreckage as the aircraft burned.
Police said the plane was an Air France passenger jet that was trying to land when it ran into trouble.

yes, it is confirmed that, thankfully there were no fatalities.
i was watching a live video feed a few hours ago online, & man, that plane looked like it would be incinerated! horrific fire!
there were some early reports that the airport was at that time closed & had been for some time. if that is true, why was an airplane landing there??

I live about 1/2 hour drive away from the airport in the city and we can smell the fire....smells like burning plastic.
I'm really happy there weren't any fatalities! Funny though, I really don't remember seeing any lightning and I've been outside most of the day.Awww...I didn't mean A holes, as in "A holes"...I meant it like, as in, my friends....

A passenger was quoted as saying it was "One hell of a rollercoaster." Nice to keep your sense of humor after an experience like that. I'm glad to hear no one ot killed...what are the chances??!!
