Working on an Article Regarding Demos: Need your input

    Hey,
Last month, my zine (www.tastyfresh.com) published an interview with Shiloh. In the next issue, I'm going to be writing an article about putting together an effective demo. I am planning to email a number of label A&R types and get their opinions to use as the basis for the article.

What I would like from you is:

    1) a list of labels you would like to see give input into this article and

    2) any questions you would like to have answered by this article.

Here's the list of questions I will be asking as of today:

? What are the components of a GREAT demo?
? How many tracks should be included?
? What are common mistakes made in submitting demos to your label?
? What is the worst mistake you can make in submitting a demo?
? How do you know when/if you are ready to send out a demo?
? Should a person contact you prior to sending a demo?
? Are their any other etiquette issues regarding demos?
? Which is preferred an mp3 demo posted on a private website or a mailed CD?
? What about packaging? How much does it matter?
