hey, he's a genious in so many aspects. cant deny that. made a shitty O/S become the standard. even the Mac is now based on the ""windows"" concept. we'd all still be in DOS if it werent for him.

          Re: Bill Gates.

thesightless, ^^^ erm, you have it the other way round mate. It was the company that Steve Jobs founded (I forget the name now) that later became Apple that first had a GUI for an OS that we now call "icons" and a "desktop"... in other words - Bill stole that idea from Steve Jobs and released it as "Windows." The rest is history...

But ya, I'll give you the fact that Bill Gates is a good BUSINESS MAN, nothing else. He's certainly not a visionary. Anyone that holds tons of patents on something like software is not a visionary - quite the opposite. Im against software patents...

Back to the subject tho... Looks like he just made a killing... What's he gonna buy? A country?

I still think he's the anti christ. I hate the little bastard. I know he's a great businessman, but that doesn't make him a great person.Plus I'm a Mac user, so screw him and Longhorn!

I think you missed the bit of history where Xerox invented the GUI and Jobs stole the idea after seeing it on a tour of their facilities
