Electro is ok to me. I can dig most of it, some of it sucks.

But I am ready for the next steps as this music evolves. Hopefully we haven't found the end of the road for electronic dance music. And I mean, the type that has now found the end of its hit parade. The "frozen genre" or something.

Progressive is about progression as everyone says. I'm excited about the future, because at this point I'm hoping for one. We'll see where it takes us, electro or not.

As long as there is a groove that lets me ride it...

depends on the type of electro u mean, some can be really boring
i've been playin a lot of tracks with electro & acid elements. i'm really diggin the fusion of such elements with tribal or prog.
progressive was born in the early 90s. . and its been borowing elements from other styles since then.. today we can say that prog fucked electro some time ago and they've had kids.
we will still see other styles becoming alive again.. the sound have to refresh every now and then.. its normal, I just hope prog doesn't have kids with Italo disco or happy hard core.. :P behave prog!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo! Not this again!

Ok, I?m here so I??ll post, and this will be the last time I ever participate in one of these threads.

1st of all, most of what people are calling "electro" isn?t really electro...but whatever, if the label makes it easier for you, cool.

2nd, all these people saying "electro sucks" and "this music is nothing more than bleeps and beeps" remind me of my parents when I was a kid listening to metal and heavy rock : "that?s not music!", "that guys? singing sounds like he?s being cut in half with a chainsaw!!".etc.

It also reminds me of those mates and work colleagues who say "that dance music you listen to is boring, it?s repetitive!", "it?s the same sound going on for a whole hour!!!","Where?s the melody, where?s the singing?!?"

A lot of these people who say that "electro" sucks easily dismiss their parents? opinion down to the fact that they are old and living the past, and their mates and colleagues as close-minded numbnuts with no musical knowledge.

We all have different tastes and opinions, but I wonder how many people ever really tried to give this "new sound" a chance...???
