      looking forward to it!

he says they cleared 6cds of tunes, i wonder how much they couldn't clear -- it sounded like tokyo was the whole night to me. iirc someone said joe smooth - promised land was the last tune, i wonder if it was mostly the oldies that they couldn't get or if there are sneaky edits in the recording to take stuff out. does anyone know more about how these are done?

^ I was wondering the same thing. Hoping it's 6 consecutive hours.

I see it´s a little more expensive than his previous releases. Anyways, beautiful edition.

yes over 30 dollars US, with shipping, that does seem a bit steep.

Are we saying: more older tunes may mean it was more expensive to licence, hence the inflated cost?

Is it really that much? I used to pay about the same for the imported renaissance discs back in the day and those were only 2 discs

Given inflation you have a point! Besides, there are some sets of Digweed's I'd pay an obscene amount to have on CD...

Harder to license because you need the label to still be running / able to authorise (rather than getting sued later down the line) .. also some of the older labels are linked to majors who want £££s. This is likely to be a flat rate per track as you can't enter into a bidding war + it's unfair to pay 4x the amount to a stubborn label vs. an independent that may rely on the cashflow to re-invest in music.

This is £18.99 for 6 x CDs so £3.16 per CD ... pretty decent value*.

*To put that in perspective .. 6 x coffees can cost more than that in some places.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

                            I agree.

Did you manage to clear all the tracks or there are tracks missing in the CDs?
