Dragging the Global Underground name through the mud

If James Lavelle is as bad live as everyone says he is why would Global Underground let him drag their name through the mud?
    And maybe mine too?

I don't know. This isn't the only board where that has been stated though. I've personally never seem him spin live, therefore I'm not one of the people saying he's bad.

      ^^

because he's part of unkle? owns mo'wax and is close with gu.
thus gathering a group of people gu wouldn't have grabbed onto without him..

that would be my informed guess.

He is playing here in Hollywood on Thursday, a very very small venue (Spider Club @ Avalon) and it should be interesting... James Holden is also playing the same night / same venue...

          he's horrible.
i saw him during his gu023 tour. he played mostly breaks and used lots of effects to mix in/out of songs instead of beatmatching. it was such a yawnfest that he cleared the floor.

since i'm not much of a breaks fan, it irks me more that he's with gu

I saw him live but he had a guy with him, who spun most of the night. He only stared at the crowd, jumped up and down and smoked.

never seen him either, heard nothing but bad shit.
cant remember reading one positive review about his dj'ing gigs.
i can safely say i'll be skipping his show when he rolls through town this month or next.

barcelona was one of my fave GU releases. didnt think too much of romania though.. i guess he's an aquired taste, although yes, his mixing is not so great.

Ditto that. I also saw him on that GU tour and he rocked that night. Must be a hit or miss thing. He making his way here in not too long, I'll still go to check him out even though the recent reviews haven't been good.
