Pappa hasn't been relevant for over 20 years, why would he be asked to do a GU album? Pappa might be a nice guy, but so is my Deliveroo driver, he isn't getting a GU either. Even Mrs Pappa is having a go.

Just been blackballed from Pappa's Facebook group. It seems some people can't comprehend why Joris Voorn was selected for a Global Underground release over Anthony Pappa. Someone needs to tell them that it is not the year 2000 anymore.

Just found his fan site and you do have a point. They are definitely living in the past. It's a shame, all the sets I have seen of him the last year or so he has just played great new music.

I really enjoyed Anthony's sets from around 1998 - 2002 time, and was always in awe of his mixing skills. But then he took a different direction musically to what I was enjoying and he went from one of my favourite DJs to someone I couldn't bear to listen to. His Moments Volume 2 CD release is, in my humble opinion, one of the most unlistenable releases I've ever heard, it was rotten.

However, in the past 18 months I have started to enjoy his mixes once more, and of course the mixing/programming is still top notch.

I always felt the around that period +2002 he was playing really dark music, music similar to Digweed's LA cd.

I just read on Discogs that his Moments CD sold over 10,000 copies. That's not that many copies. Certainly not enough to warrant a GU release. I would want a guarantee of sales over 60,000 at GU HQ.
