been watching CNN for the past 45 minutes... on top of the dead bodies floating around in the water that the city is pushing aside, there are snakes and alligators from the swamps swimming the waters.
Crazy shit going on everywhere over there. I can't believe some of the shit I've seen.
Are you talking about the looting?
That is the kind of shit that makes me think that the human race is the lowliest form of scum inhabiting this planet.
On the other hand, I was reminded of miketpoto?s post when I say this guy saying "people need to realize that New Orleans really is a poverty-stricken city, that?s why there?s looting and that?s why folks will be even poorer now..."...or something to that effect.
in a way sure, but also proves that when the "system" that everyone comes to rely upon and (sometimes) take for granted fails and nothing is there to take it's place, well, it's every person for themself...

umm its not like people are taking tv sets, they couldnt exactly put them anywhere safe or dry...they're looting food and shoes ( the shoes cause people are getting cut feet from all the debris they are walking over in the water). if there was no clean drinking water, you'd be breaking into the nearest 7-11 for a bottle of evian.
Around the corner on Canal Street, the main thoroughfare in the central business district, people sloshed headlong through hip-deep water as looters ripped open the steel gates on the front of several clothing and jewelry stores.
One man, who had about 10 pairs of jeans draped over his left arm, was asked if he was salvaging things from his store.
"No," the man shouted, "that's EVERYBODY'S store."
Looters filled industrial-sized garbage cans with clothing and jewelry and floated them down the street on bits of plywood and insulation as National Guard lumbered by.
...
One man with an armload of clothes even asked a policeman, "can I borrow your car?"
taking food or water that is already perishing to feed yourself and your children is noble. stealing jewelry, pants, and cop cars isn't.

Ummm...actually they are taking TVs....and jewlery, and shoes, and anything else they can get their hands on.
I actually have a few friends there and they have absolutely nothing now. just imagine where you live to be completely surrounded by wather that keeps rising and there isnt really anything you can do about it. Totally sucks.. Mother nature is not to be taken lightly when it comes to storms and natural disasters... All you can do is keep these people in your thoughts and prayers in this time of need. They truly do need it.
90% of New Orleans is without power. St. Tammany Parish is shut down where you can't get in or out and they estimate 80% of the structures in Slidell are now totalled. Not to mention the twin span bridge has washed away.... That isn't good.
Should I fuck you at that not until the ass, inject then tremendously hard bumschen and to the termination in the eyes yes?
They said on the news last night that authorities had to be taken off search and rescue duty to focus on keeping the peace because of the looters. That alone makes the looting inexcusable.
