Ah well. You're right Dhar - there is a big discussion to be had at some point, and imo the rights holders in general are on to a hiding to nothing if they don't look at all the reasons that people pirate and do more to deliver in a way that people want. We will pay, but not for poor quality media held on proprietary systems that can be pulled at any time.

We can discuss at lenght how you can copywrite something that is broadcast compared to an album you buy, but seeing as the Bunker Sessions are behind the payment service on Mixcloud and to avoid any legal rammifications we will have to abstain from further postings and all previous links have been disabled

Mixcloud is a streaming service and pay royalties, they are no different to Radio 1. Replicating and allowing people to download it is Copyright infringement. I think that you will find Transitions will go the same way in the future, particularly as DJ's and artists get squeezed financially. For ages no one cared, now they do.

Hopefully they'll stay on DI.FM - there you can stream in decent quality from pretty much anywhere and the monthly fee gets you access to other people's shows.

Although I subscribe to Mixcloud for the Bunker sessions, this was more out of support for JD doing them (and the artists played), as a platform though Mixcloud has always been pretty shoddy. Once the Bunker sessions stop, I won't be renewing whilst transitions is available elsewhere...

I think that there is a plan to add all of the Transitions Archive to MixCloud, whether that affects sites that legitimately host them I don't know.

Hate to say it, but I kind of feel like no longer supporting digweed,

the countless cd releases live ins, vinyls and even more recently bunker tees I bought from him/bedrock is coming to an end for me,
