didn't like it at all -- no direction, no groove, nothing interesting sounding. made it through disc 1 but am not gonna bother with disc 2. very disappointing.

I have listened to it twice. It's not amazing, but it's not bad either. As I usually find with Voorn, there are 10-15 sections that are very enjoyable, but then other sections that I don't enjoy so much.

The whole multiple track thing goes right over my head to be honest. 118 tracks across 2 discs? I wonder if he took 30 of those out would it make any difference? I'd love to have a chat with him to work out how he arrives at these multiple track mixes

You're in luck, he posted a video about it on his Facebook and Global Underground's today.

Have given CD1 a couple more listens in the past 2 days and it has really grown on me. CD2 is not so good but still has some good sections.

I will check out the GU page - thanks

I had never much taken much notice of Joris. I was in Ibiza a few years ago and just caught Sasha at the Ushuaia Tower, which was fantastic. It was just across the road from Space, I was wired so thought fuck it, it's only 2am so went to Space. Joris was playing the Terrace and was brilliant. Little did I know at the time Mixmag were recording it.

                  That's a gem, great find.

To be honest, I never listened to Joris' Balance and I did not especially like Zabiela's Balance mix. The only record with multiple tracks played at once that I have liked is the Wighnomy Brothers one.

I always found it amazing that in that pokey little corner of Ibiza, on what is quite a quiet, dusty road you have Ushuaia on one side of the road and Space on the other about 100m away. Then 200m down the beach is Bora Bora bar. 200m further on you then get to bog-standard Spanish shops, cafes etc.

Need to revise my earlier opinions on this. I now believe this to be an exceptional release. I have listened to it so many times I've lost count. CD1 trumps CD2, but the whole release is amazing.
