CALLING ALL DANCERS & DANCE LOVERS! Please join us on Saturday, May 22nd, 1-4pm for the 15th Annual Dance Parade - Online Worldwide!
You can register for FREE here: https://danceparade.org/register/
The event will be a global, interactive event using thousands of Zoom cameras on performance, teaching and party stages.
This year we celebrate the theme “DANCE BRINGS US TOGETHER” with dancers from around the world.
This years ribbon cutting ceremony will pay homage to healthcare workers and introduce dance celebrity Grand Marshals: Lisa Lisa, H.T. Chen, Dian Dong and Virginia Johnson.
3 color-coded concurrent stages will allow you to join the global dance community to celebrate all things dance!
***SOCIAL STAGE: Join this participatory stage by showing off your dance moves! Our scouts go through 1,000s of cameras and spotlight those with great energy, costumes and artistry. Participate in a kids dance, tutu jam, cultural spotlight, witness the "Dance Police Lockdown," and take part in Barbara Ann Michaels' “I Dance Like You!” showcase. Join the DANCE BATTLE by busting out your best moves or vote for your favorite, as contestants from the world vie for cash prizes. See the winners of the DARE TO DANCE Video contest that challenged choreographers to connect to their dancers remotely during this period of isolation and social distancing.
Thanks to Nancy Steele of STEELE DANCE, three winners will receive cash prizes & have a portion of their video premiered.
TEACHING STAGE: Take a dance lesson from Dance Parade's best teachers. Learn Waacking, Broadway moves, Indian Bhangra, Salsa, Ballroom, Caribbean, African and more. Ask our teaching artists whatever question you like either live on camera or in the chat!
GRANDSTAND: Latina Pop Music Legend Lisa Lisa opens the Parade Grandstand with a live appearance and medley of her life-long work. See Zoom performances along with what the Dance Parade actually is like on Broadway. Relive the actual Dance Parade in New York City and hear interviews by Artistic Directors to get an inside glimpse of the stories behind dozens of diverse movement cultures...Samba, Hip-Hop, Chinese, African, Bolivian, Mexican and so many more. There's something for everyone!
Throughout the event, you can share your contact info with your favorite performer or teacher so you can continue to LEARN TO DANCE wherever you are in the world.
