    I don't buy Starbucks either. I'm a $.25-cent coffee drinker, black.

You have to understand the further economic impact of this tragedy. It's not about a $.10 rise in gasoline prices (and btw, I don't know where you guys are that it's risen by only $.10, it's risen by $.30 from last night until mid-afternoon here). The daily commuters are not the ones directly affected by this, but we as consumers will all feel the pain because of trucking companies, airlines, and other industries that are oil-reliant. Crude oil prices have risen nearly $30 this year, that WILL have a trickle-down effect to what we're paying for products and services. The question is just how long it will take.

seeing that the rise in gas prices is inevitable, how many are actually gonna ask for a raise and by how much ?

No one is going to ask for a raise. For the sole reason that the economy is not strong enough and signs are pointing in the direction of another possible recession. People don't feel confident enough to go in asking for more money. Just my opinion.

Not to take into account that gas has risen about 80 cents since the start of the year. It cost me about 21 to 22 dollars to fill my Honda Civic up in the beginning of the year and now its costing me 31 to 32 dollars. Times that by 4, and it's costing approximately 36 dollars more a month times 12 = approximately 432 dollars more a year. I don't know about you, but that added money would be doing me better sitting in my 401K.

Oh yeah, I don't buy starbucks or smoke cigarettes and I already bring my lunch to work 4 times a week.

But I'll be damned if I'm going to miss Digweed this Friday at Spirit!

it would look nicer in your 401k, but did you actually adjust your benefits to keep the 36 bucks? or would you have adjusted it to put in an additional 36 bucks if gas prices hadn't gone up?

I guess it doesn't bother me as much because I live about 2 miles from work so I only have to fill my car once or twice a month. then again, maybe I don't give a shit because there's nothing I can do about it. an extra 10 bucks a month isn't going to break a person... it's only 33 cents a day.

Yeah, I'm in Canada and our prices are getting close to and even breaking the dollar per L margin. Oh well, drive less you fat monkeys!

I'm not sure if you're upset because of my "fat monkeys" reference? However, I was only joking around. By the way, I've lived most of my life and was born in Ukraine and only stupid people say "aboot" anyway. I wasn't saying Americans are fat monkeys, I just meant "you" as in anyone reading this and complaining about gas prices. It is not a good situation, but making humour out of it is not a bad idea.

Service station manager Randy Schuette is getting quite a workout changing the gasoline prices on his station's large sign.

"I bet I'm not done, either," he said Wednesday, hoisting price placards with a 20-foot pole at his station in Bismarck, N.D. At one point, he ran out of decimals, so a gallon's cost read $317.
