Good music
Good people
Good drinks
Not necessarily in that order, but it's no secret what the essentials are for a great party. What does seem to be a secret is how to make all 3 happen simultaneously.
Steve (unome) & Russell (thrualoooop) who have a monthly show on MercurySessions called 'Generations' and also run www.tampahousemusic.com made it happen seemlessly by organizing and playing an event last night that had their guests cruising up and down the coast of Clearwater. Alongside them was Proton resident Kris Larson who runs DJsInbox. I knew beforehand that it was going to be fun, but I never imagined just how incredible the night would be. We sailed for 4 hours and the music that was played was absolutely spot on.
This thread is meant in large part as a thank you to everyone that had a hand in putting last night together; I don't think that anything could've been done better - it was just perfect. The crew of the boat were the nicest folks, the boat was clean, the bartender was as sweet as she could be (thanks Karen), and the 3 guys that played genuinely enjoyed themselves which undoubtedly rubbed off on the rest of us. The moment when I realized the night was spectacular: my wife was dancing for the first time since I met her!
Be on the lookout for the next 'Generations' show, hopefully the guys will play what was recorded. I can't wait for the next one guys!
