Re: Evil Nine live
Evil Nine rule
They do a live set as well as DJing so I guess it depends...
But Tom and Pat aren?t finished redefining the nature of breakbeat dance music just yet. At Glastonbury, Roskilde and other massive European festivals this summer, Evil Nine will be performing as a live band. Complete with drums, guitar and a couple of MCs (including Juice Aleem, who provides vocals on the E9 track ?Pearl Shot?), Tom and Pat will alternate on bass guitar and knob-twiddling duties. ?We like to play out, we both like to play live instruments, and now we?ve got the chance to do it,? Pat remarks. ?Our sound is very organic; it kind of lends itself to performing live. Of course, we?ve been so busy we haven?t gotten around to rehearsing with the band yet. But we?ve still got four weeks ?til Glastonbury?we?ll pull it off.? If all goes well, late next fall should see the Evils bringing their live sound stateside.Ask me a question...Comment

Re: Evil Nine live
I saw them spin a DJ set with an MC at a hotel party on the beach at the WMC '05 and I wasn't terribly impressed. A little too much standard issue breakbeat that didn't really go anywhere and wasn't mixed as well as I would have hoped. But I've heard other people whose taste I respect rave about them . . . so maybe they were just having an off night. :?Comment
