this month i am pleased to announce Istanbul based DJ and producer, Muzo B. he's handed over a silky smooth mix with some flowebulating tracks on it.
Muzo Berberoglu was born in Istanbul, Turkey. His teenage years were spent playing drums with his high school band "Stoned Bricks", covering alternative rock artists and playing their own blues tunes. But his ever intensifying 'technolust' soon made him realize what could be done with new technologies in music.
By this time he started living in Boston. He spent most of his time figuring out how to use the aforementioned technologies. Countless Friday nights spent with Yunus Guvenen and Barish Turker at the legendary Twilo was a major influence throughout his years in the US. The last couple of years in Boston were spent hanging out with Ali Ajami, and Ali encouraging Muzo to explore further possibilities with his music.
Returning to Istanbul for what was supposed to be a short vacation on September 2001, he decided to stay there and started a residency at NuClub with Yunus Guvenen. Since then he has played at various events and clubs in Turkey such as Crystal, Venue, Joy, Filter and Reactor parties. He became a member of Istanbul's prolific Together crew known for their musically diverse nights they promoted at Istanbul's premiere night club Crystal. Being the technical wonderkid that he is, he is also responsible for the technical infrastructure of Istanbul's brand new electronic radio station Dinamo 103.8 FM. He remains the radio?s head of production and is an essential part of its day-to-day operations. Red Flag Collective, a brand new record label he started with Yunus Guvenen, Subsky and Barish Turker is creating quite a stir in the industry. He is also one of the hosts of the bi-weekly radio show 34bpm on Proton Radio, which has captured a very dedicated listener base.
On the production front, releases on Red Flag Collective, Silver Planet, Segment, Pangea and a cheeky Eurythmics bootleg helped him gain popularity amongs many. Muzo also has a few remixes with Fuchs under the moniker Mumbojumbo for respectable Turkish artists; as well as countless jingles that can be heard on radios and televisions in Turkey.
