i wouldn't mind a smaller board, if you look at the number of posts and topic in the sub forums it isn't that hard to see what could be missed and what couldn't.

it seems to me that pc related stuff could easely be deleted. i don't use it for pc questions (unlike on MS1 were i found alot of usefull info) cause most of my questions are urgent and i don't believe it has enough users over there for quik answers. GYY could cover it better imo.
i go to mercury promote only for the sets, haven't checked anything else.
i don't use the streaming radio but others do i'm sure so i can't comment on that section.
I do like the sub forum for movies and politics tho.

whatever you do you can't please everyone.

^^We care. Over the last 3 months we had several hundreds of new registered members...how many of them have you seen posting? For me it seems that only the die hard members are posting on the board and we would like to change this. We receive suggestions and rants from people about the Forums beeing too huge all the time and though we know that we can't make a website that everybody will like, we try at least to create a website that most people will enjoy to visit. People who are with us and gone through all the Changes may be used to the Site but I bet more than one new registered member saw the Forum Index, got scared and ran away as far and fast as he could.

i remember we had the same problem on MS1, if i'm not mistaken we had 2/3 of the members with zero posts, so obviously it isn't the structure of the board that is the reason.

people are registering because they want downloads, not because they want to post. if they wanted to post, they would. if not, fuck them. I say we purge all accounts with 0 posts that are over a month old, and quit trying to satisfying people that don't know who we are. there's already enough activity going on in GYY with the members that we have, and I don't even read half the threads because they're so stupid.

iPod is the most popular mp3 player in the world, yet everybody bitches about its battery life. walmart is one of the most popular stores in the USA, but everybody hates it. we hate george bush but we voted him in twice. we love the internet and cable, but hate paying the jacked-up prices for it. everybody can find something to bitch about on anything, but as long as it appeals to a person they'll continue with it.

bitching is half the fun .. and also ppl tend to hide the fact they are bragging by moaning about something they have just bought that is expensive or use a slur against somethings inadiquasies in order to brag about their knoledge of the facts ..

There should be one universal main pages with direct links to all forums, whether it's 10 or 100. I suggest less than 10 total forums, ideally the 5 most popular. It's way too chopped up now. The only forum I really read is the verbal diarrhea one.

imo there may be a lot of sub-forums and whatnot, but if you cant find your way around an internet forum, you shouldnt be allowed to use the internet...
