I'm very happy to announce that I'll be returning to Club Blackout this September to play for the crazy Bavarians. I had a ball last time and have every expectation that my visit in September will be just as good if not 100 times better.
Night was amazing. Unfortunately the Iriver recording level was set too high to handle the signal from the record out jack on the mixer so it's distorted... listenable but distorted, so it won't be made available publicly unfortunately, but I will try and do a mix based on it.
There were about 200 people there which, for that sized space, was perfect... nothing but smiles, hands in the air and screams and cheers for every new noise coming out of the speakers... a highhat burn from a techno track would drop and they'd all go nuts, a bass line would rumble the room and they'd start screaming, a voice sample would fly around the room and they'd all be right there ready for whatever I was gonna throw them next.
Biggest track reaction: Matthew Johnson - Decompression... I played it late in my set and EVERYONE recognized the record immediately... it's nice to see a non-commercial type track getting the reaction internationally that this record has received... I almost didn't play it because I was wondering if it would work and lo and behold, not only were they familiar with it but they were working to it on the dance floor.
I played for 4 hours and had a full floor from the first record. It's the type of night that makes it all worthwhile.
