its never just a pen. i have shitty handwriting and need the fine points. it was a cross pen my father gave me and someone else's secretary lost it, when i know she was the only other person in the office yesterday after we all left. Did you bring it in from home? If not, that is a COMPANY pen, and as such, you cannot claim ownership of it. In fact, I suspect your company may not be pleased to hear that you have been negligent in your caretaking of their property. Your supervisor should forward this to HR, who will put it in your permanent file, and then pass it along to accounting, who should bill you. Next time, be a little more careful.
