am i the only one that thinks nick warren can't mix worth a crap? i mean, he's been djing forever, have numerous albums, has great track selection, but when you listen to his lives (at a club or a download), his mixing is utter shite!!! he technically can not mix worth anything! talk about sudden fades, slam mixing, trainwrecks, you name it. with mixing that shitty, how does he still stay a "big named" dj? i don't understand...
Because he's one of the very few dj's out there that can rock a dancefloor by simply knowing what to play and when to play it.
It's pretty useless being the worlds best mixer but unable get a crowd jumping.
Gimme good music anytime, leave the chin stroking for home use.
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

Very very true. Only some dj's can go out there and play the most head type stuff out there and get people into it. Digweed is one of them. But people like NW play some tracks that will just blow your mind. It doesn't matter if he's the best mixer. He's got the feel.
And I've heard some mixes from him that were technically brilliant, and then some that weren't, he has his on and off days. For that.

We've been knowing this for years...which is why no-one talks about it anymore. His Mix Cd's are usually pretty good though...

Your right, his compilations are top notch.

people, dont be noobs, nick isnt known for sasha-esque mixing, he is known for showing up, putting vinyl on the tables, and destroying a club, no matter where it is,. he plays to the crowd to a degree(he wont go cheesy), he can play anything and is a fucking awesome programmer. guaranteed a good night whenever, always fresh, never boring. nick is ACE.

Got that right...... He always has the freshest tracks and the "special" little way out west remixes he throws in are always one of my favorite highlights of a show. His live mixing skills have always been sketchy but that's just him.... and as it was written before in this thread if you're going to see him you probably already knew that anyway. I'd rather see Nick live than Sasha (excuse me whilst I yawn) any day of the week.

You got that right.
One time in Melbourne Australia 2003 he dropped Mort Kante - Yeke Yeke in his set and the place went right off. Another time in January 2004 he dropped Clocks - Tom Middleton Remix once during the night and then right at the end of the night, he grabs the mic and says to the punters, " I know you guys are probably sick of hearing this, but, I just love it." Then with the biggest of smiles he begins to drop the Clocks Remix once again. This had everyone in the club smiling, clapping and jumping for joy. One of the most memorable nights I've had, ever.
His set construction is an absolute head fuck, allowing him to mix just about any track he wants and be able to get away with it. Those who are really there to party and listen to amazing music would be oblivious to his imperfections in the mixing department.
I've seen his Warren live 6 times and each time he's blown me and those who were there away.
The only other Dj's that I've seen live a few times and are able to do this are Lucien Foort and Cattaneo.
