staying logged in..

I always check off the button that says always log in with cookies ( i forget what it says exactly)...but the last day or so I have to re-log in whenever i close the browser. I havent changed any of my internet settings at all.

we were making some changes earlier. if you clear your cookies now and try again it should be fine.:wink:

Im still having issues actually..major ones lol. I cant even reply half the time today because when i hit reply...I am then logged out.

manually delete mercuryserver cookies (they may not have been deleted through the IE option)

run a search for 'mercuryserver' in your x:\windows directory and delete any text files that come up...then try re-logging in.

I'm out of town until the following sunday, will look into it when I return, I think that the forums are having some trouble with AOL (something I read a little while back)

Part of the reason Im not coming on as much is because it is horrible to re-log in after every post or closing the window briefly then having to re-log in.

Nope. It is getting weirder though.

Half the time when I log in...it brings me to portal and these are the times i remain logged in for about 2 hours, whenever i re=open the window it brings me to Portal even though the link I have saved is for the general forum. The other half of the time it brings me straight to general forum since thats the link i have and when I close the browser it logs me out. Make sense?

ok good to know the screen size is fixed,

regarding your portal errors, that's whats been hardcoded into the Forum index page so re-routing to portal on logging in is a given unless you add www.mercuryserver.com/forums/index.php into your favorites.

I have also edited the link now so when you click on the ms icon on top, you will be brought back into the forums and not the portal. and being logged out upon closing the browser, I am assuming you've done the dance with cleaning your cookies and such ???

are you using IE or the browser provided by AOL ?

Yea I have cleared cookies, files, i even lowered my security settings to the lowest to see if that would help...it didnt.

I used both AOL and IE. I gave up and just use the aol browser now.

I have the direct link to general forum saved in my favorites.

fuck I am at an absolute loss now.... I dont even know where to begin with this and I cant find that solution on the phpbb support forums too, I hunted like mad for it

the last few days i havent had the problem.

i deleted the link i had in my favorite places, and then re-saved it. do you think this could have had anything to do with it, it seems silly to my that it would but what do i know.

you know it could be if you were still pointing to the old forums and thereby having the old cookie showing up.... I dont know microsux is weird
