Luke Fair - Last night in Perth, Australia

I went along to Luke Fair last night and, despite being reasonably well promoted for the past couple of months, no one was there! At the peak of Luke's set I counted twenty people (not including staff and other djs) in the place. Luke played a solid three hour set that was one awesome track after another from start to finish. I had a great time but I wonder what Luke thought of the turn out. It was obviously being recorded so hopefully it will do the rounds some time.

I think it is awesome that DJs give their all even when noone can be bothered to go. Makes it all the more special for those that do. If that set ever does get released I bet it would be awesome, like a proper conversation between luke and the 'crowd', and maybe he decided to try something a little bit new/different?

How's Luke's OS.3 anyway? I've been meaning to buy it after loving Lisle's but have chicken-shitted out everytime.

that turnout sounds kinda like dallas area. huge legenady talent comes in & noone shows (including myself sometimes), then testicles comes through & people are waiting in line in the rain for 3 hrs while a riot grows across the street waiting to get in, only to miss the action. what a letdown.

Does his style of sound have a big following in WA?

It's probably more suited for Melbourne punters.
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

Indeed we do, but obviously it's a very small percentage of the population (at least in little old Perth).

OS 3 is top stuff. I'd say it's best CD in the OS series.

It seems not. I guess I'll be moving to Melbourne then. I forgot to mention that the club it was held in usually plays Drum n Bass on Saturday nights, so much of the already small crowd were confused DnB-heads.

I'm so glad I went to see him because I have a feeling he won't bother coming back here any time soon.

Maybe not to Perth, but he'll definitely be back in OZ.

Yeah maybe you should move, Melbs is definitely the place to be if you love anything associated with dance music.
